Re: I finally did it. Sunflower in multiplayer.

Yup, a world of frustration is brought upon you playing as sunflower. When I first started playing sunflower in GW I was fine with her since the real threat I had to watch out for was scientist, now it is basically everybody, even my teammates could be a threat to me (electro brains). When I started maining sunflower the frustration of playing her in GW2 never could be higher when the effectiveness of your team rules out if you live or die most of the time. Sunflower has been one heck pf a ride leveling her up and from what I can infer from playing as them all in this game is seperate them to two categories for me 1 you have a chance to live and 2 good luck living. Vampire flower has been a gift from the heavens and fire plus sun pharaoh have been great to. Meanwhile power, alien, and stuffy are kinda lacking behind. The amount of times I try chasing around after my teammates trying to help where I am better off just planting a heal flower and running off to save myself. The amount of times I have done last minute revives to help save our team and die for it and not get the "thank you" revive. It is frustrating. I will revive my team and die for it and they all run off (especially corn) and forget about their healer that just traded lives. If I am not playing sunflower and someone on my team is and they die I will take the time to help them since I know what it is like to be them, and I help them out and not leave them once they heal me.

That's why I don't play Sunflower in Turf Takeover. Period. In Team Vanquish, I enjoy her more because you have more 1v1 situations where the big clip and the Heal Flower make or break a gunfight. but even with the upcoming buff to the Sunflower, she will still remain a fragile support class with a giant head=effectively less HP than the Scientist (who's optimized for 1v1 ambushes.) THe most frustrating thing is when people don't protect a Sunflower. Apart from the Cactus, every Plant is better suited to a gunfight than the Sunflower, but if they get healed, they just run away, and I'm shaking my head at their selfish behaviour. Especially those Corns. Corn is actually a good pocket and has the ability to protect a Sunflower, but they are just so stoopid that the All-Star makes them dead, not big surprise, and then kills the defenseless Sunflower. I hope that the buff will give her the ability to defend herself, because it seems like I'm the only Corn/Citron/Peashooter/Chomper to ever care about protecting the Sunflowers.

Yeah I feel the same, I'll typically float around anyone playing a sunflower and try my best to support the support but if my em peach is on cd and a scientist warps in or anear all star punts an imp or zpg or any number of other things is directed at the poor flower I just watch helplessly as they are decimated time and time again ☹️ I mastered fire and vampire but until something else changes for the other variants they'll most likely be my last variants to master. I do think healing shoukdb grant a bit more experience so at least supporting your teammates would feel a bit more worthwhile.
  • I played the sunflower in multiplayer a while ago and tried to play strictly support.  Gaining XP through healing is EXTREMELY slow and I had the healing boast.  I'm not sure I even gained a level that game.  Hopefully they increase the XP you gain from healing next update.  50XP at max multiplier doesn't seem that strong.
