Re: Imp-Ending-Doom

My issue with the imp has been that he's meant to be a run-and-gun character but his guns are kind of lacking in output and the repeated buffs to his accuracy are beginning to turn him into a mini foot soldier who can attack at most ranges. I also always found gravity grenade a weird ability for his intention but even in a vacuum, this ability isn't really good with its small aoe, duration and being escapable.

On the other hand I think the mech buffs were well needed. It has always felt like it was meant to push heavily defended points or breaching if you will but it lacked the firepower and speed to make a difference. Missile madness simply wasn't worth using because of its low damage for how long it locked you into it These buffs made missile madness worth using again and gave the mech survivability which it also needed yet not as much as a loaded oak or space station.

Last note, I think the swarm melee should be toned down to at least 35, it feels more like a finisher like in overwatch yet it 2 shots squishy characters. It also simply doesn't look like something that should more damage than being bit by a fly trap or being punched by a super hero.

@Studman61 I'd say 40 for melee would be fine, considering there is a large delay. I get and agree with many of you points on Imp, but I really don't think he fits into the series anymore.
He got replaced with Acorn+Oak and Space Cadet+ Station and has a weird role now. He has always been a balancing mess, even more so in BfN without damage drop off. The should either remove Space Cadet and replace her with imp in a sequel, or do it the other way around. Imp could easily be turned into a Teamplay Class.
  • @benn1nat0r Anyway, especially on the Xbox controller, it's really hard to use the melee attack because the joystick can get stiff when you press it.

I feel that Imp is still underpowered in some ways, so I feel that Explosive Escape should still exist. A damage nerf perhaps, but not a removal. I also believe that Mech Hunter is not overpowered because Imp’s damage seems fairly luckster. Thankfully, it seems he has been buffed so I tend to snipe with him less now. Gettin’ in close is where it’s at!
