Re: Infinity Time Does NOT Worth It

You are doing it right.  Forget playing the infinity mode, it is just not that fun.  Play regular game modes like Turf takeover, gnome etc..., save your coins, and when the infinity packs become available at the sticker shop, then just buy them that way.

Best thing i did.

If you choose to play infinity time, do not go beyond 25K shards.  That is the number for the highest chest, you risk crashing going much further.  Once you have all the character pieces, you can reduce that to a lower number, I don't want to steer you wrong but I think it's 15K shards.  25K does not guarantee a character piece, but the drop rate is pretty good, especially compared with most other RNG aspects of this game.

Infinity packs will not give you character pieces until you have all of the other infinite and scrumptious items.  Are they worth 200K coins?  Depends how much you hate infinity time.  You can get those items from infinity time chests in less time than it takes to earn the coins to buy the packs.

Since you mention sticker packs, I want to point out that you cannot get any infinity time items or party character stickers from regular sticker packs.

But they said if you buy a lot from Wondrous Pack of Greatness (regular pack) there is a chance to get Legendary.

Well, I have all the Super Rare and Rare characters, even Special (GW 1 award for rank 313) and two Legendaries.

Just bad thing, even 25k time shards, only 25k coins... that isn't fair at all. I get 25k by one garden / graveyard ops on hard.. I think Infinity Time is even harder than graveyard or garden ops on hard difficulty.

That only refers to Legendarys from packs. It excludes party variants just like it excludes CP and RUX legendary hats.

That said, I heavily disagree that infinity time is not worth it. Yes, 25k coins is not a great reward but, don't forget the bonus coins for defeating bosses and clearing waves. As I recall about 25k for a 25,000 shard run, 12.5k for bosses and 12.5k for waves. So, then you received 50k coins for your effort in Infinity Time. That assumes you are unlucky and get a coin drop, which of my 120+ runs was not even 10% of the time. Otherwise, you have a very high chance of getting a party piece which are even further made easier by allowing you to pick the faction you want. With packs you get anything, any of the 123 IT items, opposed to playing the mode which limits the loot pool to 61 or 62. (Zombies have one less for some reason.)

The other factor for this is time. Consider that the average payout per match is 1-1.5k per minute. Meaning you are looking at 2 hr 13 min to 3 hr 33 min to earn enough for a single pack. Even on the low end of that figure you can fit around 3, 25k shard runs. (Up to 5 on the high end.) So, in total that is x3 chances at party variants PLUS 75k for your effort (towards an infinity pack if you want). Remember that if you don't get the ~10% chance of coins you are getting customizations thus increasing the odds of getting what you want. (Even in packs.)

This all assumes you are only after party variants and will ignore the other drops. Otherwise the odds are only more in favor of doing the mode. The 14 Super Rare (per team) items drop best at 15k but once you have them all you only need to do 7.5k runs for the remainder of the rares. Each of these runs is 15-30 minutes and will save you farming ~70k coins each. (3 runs = 200k saved on packs.) Plus don't forget the coins from playing. For example, lets take a 7.5k run. 20 minutes of work for a 12k reward in coins and an item (saving 70k). Find me a way to make 82k coins in 20 minutes and sign me up. (Not even the toxic brainz "event" can match that.) Having said that, if all you are after is party stickers it may be in your best interest to farm 7.5k runs and drain the loot pool of the packs until you have the best odds of getting the party stickers.

Unless you are unable to complete the mode or can not stand it so much you are willing to put in a large amount of effort to ignore it, there is no reason to avoid infinity time. Yes, it is boring. Yes, it takes ~50-60hrs total to get everything. But, that same collection costs 8,200,000 in packs. Even being generous that will be over 70 hours to earn in normal play modes and loses all the coins earned from Infinity Time. No matter how I look at it those packs are a losing bet. (Especially, for anyone trying to get everything.) Again, if you hate the mode don't do it. But, if you can handle it, you would be doing yourself a disservice by avoiding it.

*Edit: Needed to find my tin foil hat. It seems strange that zombies have one less than plants. Or rather, thanks to a special sticker, plants have one more than zombies. Except, it is suspicious that there are 123 stickers total and that just happens to be divisible by 3. (The same number as sticker in a pack.) Seems, Popcap may have intended to drive people to those packs, even though as I said it is a losing deal.

I hate infinity time, I don't play a single round.

I just bought 2 upgrade packs for 4 party characters cost $20 of real money then bought a lot of infinity packs to get the rest of party characters.

    Note:

I actually don't need to buy with real money because eventually, I can get all party character from infinity packs. I was just being impatient at that time :P

  • Since I wrote out the post, I went a lots of infinity time. Spent around 50 stars and I got 4 sticker parts, so unlocked 2 party characters.

In the least matches I got only rare appearances... And yes, I went at least 25k shards.

I assume you know this already but, in case you don't. Remember that you have to play on the proper side to get certain characters. Corn, Citron and Rose only come from the Dino version. Super Brainz, Pirate and Imp only come from the cat version.

Unfortunately I had the same luck on getting party characters. Even though I used Dino’s for plants and cats for zombies. Everybody I know didn’t seem to have that problem. Not until I started getting 30000 shards was it closer to a guarantee. I really don’t know the rhyme or reason to it.
  • Thanks, that's a useful information. I always thinked about that, which side i'll get characters for.

I figure I'll share what I know in case it helps anyone.

There are 4 tiers of chest. 2.5k, 7.5k, 15k, and 25k. Every tier has an unknown odds chart so no one drop can be guaranteed at any level. That said, my experience is a bit under 10% of runs being coins.

25k has the best odds of party characters (IE Legendary Stickers, 6 per team), I think I went 12/14 myself on those stickers.

15k has a chance of legendary but mostly drops Super Rares. (12 zombies, 14 plants, for some reason one of Engineer's infinity items is listed as a common and scientist just doesn't have a second one.)

7.5k has a minimal chance of a legendary, moderate chance for super rares but a great chance at the 85 rares in the set. (42 zombies, 43 plants.) These are quite quick to finish as long as you have the stars to keep up. (Around 15 - 20 minutes, depending on skill.) It is probably the best way to drain the loot pool if getting 25k shards is too hard. (Then people only have to buy a few packs at most.)

2.5k can yield a rare and seems to do so commonly, but it also very commonly results in only coins. (In theory you can still get party stickers from 2.5k runs but it is very very low.) If you are willing to risk lots of coins, it is faster to do 2.5k. But, you will get a lot of coins and need more stars as a result. I personally recommend 7.5k at a minimum.

What I really need to do is quit being lazy and write a guide. I have all my records I'm just afraid of how much typing it will take. T.T
