Since I wrote out the post, I went a lots of infinity time. Spent around 50 stars and I got 4 sticker parts, so unlocked 2 party characters.
In the least matches I got only rare appearances... And yes, I went at least 25k shards.
I assume you know this already but, in case you don't. Remember that you have to play on the proper side to get certain characters. Corn, Citron and Rose only come from the Dino version. Super Brainz, Pirate and Imp only come from the cat version.
