I was disapointed to hear that they would give the iron citron a impact damage reduction. Its still hard to aim at enemies and mech breaker should be renamed because its weak against mech. I don't know what other plant can stop the zombies currently because bbq corn is hard to aim at imps and the toxic pea cannot stop superheros.
They are nerfing Iron Citron? Why??? He is the the only plant that is any fun to use....guess they just want all the plants to suck. Obviously they don't, but still. Granted Iron Citron is quite strong. But he takes some skill to use. If you are not able to get direct hits with him, then he is useless. Since he fires so slow, you need to be really good at aiming. Why punish skillful players by nerfing a plant that is only good when used by a skilled player? Not to sound like I am full of myself, but I have played this game. There is no risk of an over abundance of skilled players abusing Iron Citron and making the game unbalanced for the zombie team. I feel like a Nerf to Iron Citron is totally unnecessary.

Iron Citron was broken to be honest. but not the character himself.. most of his problems comes to two facts:
- first, Iron Mode, can change the situation in a graveyard and garden mode.
-second, their data is probably broken due to the fact Iron Citron can abuse easily a glitch and have infinity iron mode
Most of the problem comes from the passive.. anyway they maybe did good here, Citron is getting survivability option with reduce the critbox area.. and since Iron Citron is already enough tanky they cutting some of his damage potential...
What can i say? I was disappointend.
I ddn't play him much for the Iron Mode, more because he's a POWERFUL scientists counter, can hold on zoologist burst and kill them with two shots if you're accurate, and if enemy teams stacks scientists he has no problem at all with his damage drop-off at range.
At least scientists is getting a nerf.. so i'm gonna probably not use him that much to counter them and more to ruin some noobies experience just for the fun of activing Iron Mode. I did some research on the glitch you mentioned and I could not find anybody who knew of a way to pull off the glitch reliably. Which means I don't think it is a widespread problem. Especially considering how rare the character is. I had never even heard about it until you mentioned it.
- Anonymous10 years agoDefinitely not smart in my opinion. The data was probably off because iron mode was a more realistic goal as iron citron than the other legendary/party characters on plants. Mostly a campy character. Not too difficult to get streaks with in TT. Kind of annoyed at people saying he's skilled though he's just campy. I'm assuming this was so he didn't destroy everything in iron mode so easily, but honestly, he's still not that great. I'd compare him to a cactus really. He's annoying, but doesn't help his team too much beside being a tank if he's protecting the hills.
- They shouldn't nerf him because he is hard to get and plants need a real power character I mean the zombies have
Scientists, ice Perry, electro brains, Z7 imp who can kill iron citron easily, the pirate since all his weapons are op.
Scuba foot soldier who does more damage the iron citron with base damage of 55 lol
Ice foot soldier who can just freeze him and use the ZPG.
All the all Stars can kill him since the all Stars can tackle and use the imp bomb to kill him easily.
The imps since iron citron's "Mech breaker" can't even destroy them unless he is in iron mode.
Easy to kill iron citron because he is slow even when he is in his ball the last he needs is a damage nerf. You don't even see iron citron on the battle field at all.

If you can't aim very well, he is terrible for you. It is true that he is best at a distance. But I play him at mid and close range all the time.
He he is definetly leagues better than a cactus.
- Anonymous10 years agoIf you can't aim, don't play as a character that shoots... Or a shooter at all...

a weird nurf to hear when you first start his reload was shockingly bad till you had the 2 reload upgrades
To be fair though, the Plants will have more damage in the next patch - EVEN SUNFLOWER. Since Rose and Citron are getting buffed, there should be more CC in team comps - which means you'll see less Super Brainz usage. (THANK GOD)
Also, since Rose is getting buffed in dps/homing, it'll be a nightmare for Imp players outside of their mechs. (Especially considering they'll be even easier to hit when the patch hits)

Yeah i think the same. With 40 Damage he will still be decent though.
Anyway consider he is a super scientists counter and scientists getting nerfed is not unreasonable to nerf him imho, scientists life will be harder than actually probably.
Yeah i really like Citron i'm ok with a nerf on Iron if his gonna get less critbox and less clunky animations, he is the one who will abuse for the most of these two buffs in my opinion.

If you can't aim, don't play as a character that shoots... Or a shooter at all...First, people can play any game they like even if they can't aim. Second, there are people with varying degrees of accuracy. Some people do just fine with single shot weapons. Some need to be able to fire fully automatically so they have a higher chance of hitting their targets. It only makes sense that single fire shots should do more damage than fully auto weapons. So again, those who can aim better should be rewarded for their accuracy.
Onto wether or not the damage nerf is okay. If you nerf damage from 50 to 40 for a direct hit, that is one more hit you need on a Super Brainz to kill them while they are punching you directly in the face. That makes a huge difference in survivability in that case. If your EMPeach is on cool down, it is already a tough encounter. So I don't like the idea of a nerf for that reason. Also, if the damage nerf also applies to his long range damage, that will truly gimp the character since doing less than 25 damage at long range means it takes forever to kill a character. I know we don't have the details of a nerf yet, but still, like I said Citron rewards good, consistent aiming. I don't see why that is a problem in a game like this or any other shooter.
I personally like the characters as it is....any less damage than its current would make iron citron obsolete again and even more disappointing (it already is the rarest character in the game).
As many mentioned before, there is no need whatsoever to nerf him since the damage is a reward for the extreme precision needed to actually make some difference. Its speed justifies that damage. and to be honest even more.
Please reconsider this decision and comment it further with the community who actually use this variant. @JA_Wiebe
