Re: Let max bulbs = 50 + MR

I don't understand why there's even a cap on Prize Bulbs to begin with. What difference does it make? A lot of this game is grinding for resources anyway, so who really cares? Are they trying to tell us not to play their game or something?

@AgentRaygun66  I feel like that.... having been playing since Founders I emptied the rewardotron months ago (like many of us).... so the coin rewards just keep gathering... not far off 30 million now with nothing to spend them on.... they are useless...
add that to the fact that after the map is completed and the max 50 bulbs have been reached for the month... there is literally very little incentive and actually no "real" reward (other than fun) to keep playing the game.
And what is the point of grand master anyway without reward? I got to master and and then grand master 1 for most characters and don't even bother promoting them at all anymore.
Some reward for playing other than those currently available would be very much appreciated by many I'm sure ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

@AgentRaygun66 I think there's a twofold reason behind the max bulb limit, one being that it prevents players who finish the map early from building up so many that they don't need to work on the following map, and partly to provide an opportunity for income from those who want or need to purchase bulbs in order to complete the map.

As for the Grandmaster ranks, I find it really disappointing. I'm glad there aren't further upgrades with each level, as it would widen the skill gap from Recruit even further, but it would've been great to receive some bulbs/ rainbow stars or hat.

Sad truth is that many of us stop playing when our Bulbs are 50โ€™d.

I'm not surprised, to be honest.  This game already seems like there's not going to be much life in it unless they're planning on some major content drops down the road. Getting back on point, while I don't want to rat anyone out, I've definitely seen one player with at least 60-some prize bulbs in one of his videos.  I'm guessing that's because he's helping to push the game with his videos and EA is compensating him for his trouble somehow.

@AgentRaygun66  It is totally possible to have more than 50 bulbs saved. This content creator most likely obtained these "extra" bulbs quite legitimately not by "compensation" or pay off by EA.
If you buy bulbs (with rainbow stars), the bulbs will be added to your 50 making it 50+ bulbs.....
the "time limited" rainbow stars pack they have on offer at the moment  for real money includes 10 bulbs, again this would add to your bulbs...
    and
one of last months activities in Giddy Park gave you 3 bulbs each time you fought the gnome and won... it was possible to collect as many bulbs as you wanted with no limit....
made the end of the month very moderately more interesting... as long as you didn't mind waiting about for the gnome ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

    @Shinobicap Aww! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
It's peculiar - I mean, you do want to get all of the customisations, but it just feels way too early in the game's life to have done it.

@ToastedSarnie  Ya! and also if you go through some of the characters, like corn, for example. You realize just how little came out of the reward'o'tron for that character. Forget the prize maps and all that. They've gotta be working on filling that thing back up... right?

@spIash_damageYes, I'd really like to think that the devs were just caught out by how quickly Reward-O-Tron was emptied & that there's more in the pipeline, but I don't have much faith in that anymore, sadly @Shinobicap

With hindsight (though I think many of us initially thought 30k very expensive for one item) they should have priced costume pieces higher.
I also think perhaps the skins should've been split into individual pieces the way they were in GW/GW2 to make a full set and bottom line, there should've been a lot more items in the first place.

@Shinobicap  yep that's that for now.... huge machine in your Giddy Park... useless and not aesthetically pleasing either. โ˜น๏ธ

I still am hopeful that at some point they will refill it. We still need to surely get "basic rewardotron" outfits for the Wizard... you would think???
Who knows what their plans are or indeed if they actually have some plans in this area... currency forward planning seems a bit whacky and ill thought out from the beginning if you ask me. Surely they knew that folk would empty the rewardotron quickly.
Anyway proper mess now with peoples uber coin collections... no easy fix for this after all this time.

Ever hopeful though that we will, in the end, get more costumes than are being just being offered at Rux for rainbow stars ๐Ÿคž.... but wont hold my breath in the mean time ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

@ToastedSarnie  yes thats true... but then in the end we still would have only had a very limited amount of customisations and costumes... and there just isn't quite enough for variety of choice.
They seem to have got it so that while it looks like enough at the beginning, it leaves you wanting/needing more to design your own specific look or combination.
Auch... its a shame I hope they do manage to address this at some point and don't just leave us with a total glut of useless coins and the rainbow star situation and Rux ๐Ÿคž

    @asabaida Yep, couldn't agree more.
I did wonder if we'd see the basic GW & GW2 customisations introduced at some point, surely easier because the designs already exist & indeed the snake hat for Corn that's in the prize map is very similar to a GW2 one.
I can think of lots of sets / items I'd love to see (especial favourites were GW's Cat Set for Sunflower & Chocolate Set for Chomper ๐Ÿ˜Š) but I'll be gutted if things just appear slowly on prize maps if we continue to be unable to convert coins.
Back on topic, it would've been nice if you could at least earn unique hats for each Grandmaster rank.

I think a great idea to fill the Reward-o-Tron would be with the system they had I GW2. Although most people did not enjoy the customization recolors of silver, gold, etc. it would give some purpose to coins. Additionally, I think it would be cool if after ever two new characters, they drop a huge content update, not only with the new character, but new customizations for ever character and the recent ones. It would be a breath of fresh air.

Lastly, I think they should increase the prices for new characters to 1 million coins for each one, and have the legendary upgrades also available for 500,000 coins (Or 750,000 coins). I think it is too easy for many people to get the new characters if they don't increase. Most of my friends waited for Wizard to be purchasable because he was so cheap, making the previous prize map somewhat weak (disappointing) in my opinion. This aspect makes the prize map less rewarding in my opinion, although I love how it is shaped and how you get the rewards.

@SundropDot It's a tricky one - while a million isn't much for those of us who emptied Reward-O-Tron a while back, that would be too high for newer players, making it a little unfair, I think.

Although there were some of the silver / gold / gem / scrumptious customisations I liked & used (such as the gem bunny ears for my Stuffy) I personally would much rather not have recolour items - it just clogged your inventory & seemed a lazy way of adding more items.

I would rather have the old basic costume pieces added, more new ones & perhaps new categories of items.
The zombies used to have weapon customisations which I'm sure many players would like having back for example. Tattoos were good for face options, rather than just having hats.... and they could always add in those wretched missing zombies shoes!!! ๐Ÿคฃ

@SundropDot  I finished the Reward-O-Tron very recently, it's been emptied. My brother is not far behind. So I do hope that the developers can find other ways of giving players ways of spending coins rather soon, as I am starting the whole "saving up" business, with nothing to spend my coins on. I am going to earn a lot of coins at the end of the Ranked Battle Arena pre-season, but what am I going to be able to spend them on? I know that many other players have had issues with nothing to spend coins on, hopefully it will be rectified! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ™‚ GW2 had so many stuff to spend coins on, I still can't keep up!

@SundropDot  Yeah it would be great if they could add more customisations for new and old characters on a regular basis... am still a bit surprised (although not really due to past experience) that they havent yet released the Wizard customisations that we know they already have.

Yep I agree @ToastedSarnie  mostly disliked and was hugely irritated by the recolours of gold silver blah blah. Id rather have nothing to spend my coins on than that all over again. Was one of things that put me off playing GW2 in the end (well that and Bfns arrival) so boring unlocking that stuff... over and over and over again... it seemed never ending and very unrewarding, and leaves you with an inventory full of piffle. Completed the sticker book all but the infinity and scrumptious but I really cannot be bothered with all that anymore.
Honestly Id rather poke my eyes with sharp sticks than spend my coins on useless, ugly filler stuff. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Now matching zombie shoes for those with matching shoes in the first place... I'm on board with that ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I still have not emptied the reward-o-tron. It would be nice to be able to convert the prize bulbs to coins say 1 prize bulb to 1,000 coins or to convert them to rainbow stars one prize bulb to one rainbow star. This way with the rainbow star conversion it won't eat into possible real money purchases of rainbow stars, but it would give the players some incentive to keep playing. I usually stop playing (or dramatically cut back on playing) after completing the prize map.
