It really needs to be fixed in some way. When I try to join a friends Ops and they're there by themselves and the game let's me join yet then sticks me in a unicorn queue, I just leave it as there's obviously something wrong. Something like this would help.

This, too.
I know some people have their settings to private and we cannot join them but either a hiccup has occurred and we cannot join them, the server is full but doesn’t show it, or we think we’re waiting to play when in reality, it’s a glitch or our friends have privacy settings that shouldn’t enable the option to follow.
As you can tell, I’m clueless as to the real cause but can’t stand waiting forever only to eventually give up and play something else/turn off the console.
@spIash_damage please, please, please add this to battle arena! I would like to do something then just sitting and waiting.

Well it seems no body will be able to join anybody today as the Origin chat/friends list seems to be malfunctioning... it just shows "Chat Offline" with a "blah balah blah... we will fix it " thing for hours now.
I presume so as its the Origin launcher app whatnot thingymajig 😃
