@Mysterymaster_OP Your analysis of the topic seems to be very accurate. And thanks for including pictures so we can visualize it better. I have to say this problem can get annoying at times, but sometimes it's my savior. As nobody seems to take the side paths, I usually take them to surprise the other team. While it may not always be successful, it is a great way of distracting the other team just enough so yours can move in from the front.

@TheSprinter85 I imagine many players never get so see all the detail the developers have put into the map design because of this. With the addition of private play I finally got the opportunity to take my time and check out all the little Easter Eggs without disturbing an online match.
