Again, maybe there needs to be less focus on achieving 100% completion and a little more on just having fun in the game? It is, after all, supposed to be entertainment.
Those new characters would definitely be fun. Too bad it will probably take over 3 months at the very least to get them.

We have Cats vs Dino's this week, which is another 75% chance for a Key. Next week is a Community Challenge so presumably no Key next week but, I would expect, that the next two weeks will both be possible Keys.
This means, with Key drops on each eligible week, all four Trials could be done as early as 4 weeks from this writing. I think a prediction of 12 weeks is a little pessimistic.
As far as drawing out the content release is concerned, PopCap has discussed how they want the Backyard to be a dynamic thing with something always ongoing and different from the week before and breaking the release of the Trials into pieces fits that overall plan.
I understand that a drawn out schedule and a slow pace of collecting everything the game has to offer infuriates the Completionists out there who are never satisfied until they have every little thing but PopCap obviously isn't prioritizing those players and are instead looking towards those who are simply playing the game to have fun and who might be intrigued by the Trials of Gnomus and the mysteries it presents rather than viewing them as an obstacle between them and 100%.- 9 years agoI peraonally have over 500 hours played time on this game. Every one of which I can truly say was fun! So having fun and playing casually isn't a good excuse to do what they did. As I have stated they need to refresh those rainbow chests as frequent as the challenge board and keep the portal open every day. As long as they change the game mode every week there will still be a new experience every week. You have to be able to agree with that. The majority of the community is not happy with what they have done and I cannot understand how you can defend it.

I also have more than 500 hours invested in the game.
I've read the complaints; the majority prior to this update revolve around players pitching a fit that they're favorite character has been "ruined" by a new Balancing patch which reduced something or other, that someone thinks that Character X is over powered because they have a difficult time handling combat with that particular character class or character variant, or complaints that someone can't seem to get lucky and receive a particular character or accessory sticker.
After the Trials of Gnomus update, setting aside the insane frame rate dropping crash which has been ruining everyone's good time, the complaints have been revolving around not receiving a key from the 50 Rainbow Star chest on this opening launch of the content, complaints about how difficult it will be to achieve the collection of 100% of every accessory, and complaints that someone isn't being allowed to plow through the entire content of the update in the first 48 hours.
You'll have to pardon me but after you set aside the legitimate gripes which concern bugs, glitches and connection issues the community complaints entirely concern wanting the game to give them stuff guaranteed as quickly as possible and wanting balance adjustments to the game to make it easy for them to beat whatever character they're having problems with in the game.
I might be in the minority here, but I honestly don't care how long it may or may not take for me to collect all of the accessories.
Popcap has decided to factor in randomization in the awards and wants to roll their update out in pieces to keep players coming back over the longer term. The amount of bitter anger I see coming from some players over this is just baffling to me personally.
