Re: Nightcap sucks and needs help

@Iron_Guard8 Personally, she doesnt feel that fun to use.
Like I said, sneaking up on enemies gives no reward, and usually they'll sprint away and a bunch of zombies figure out my location so I have to run. She is really loud when moving and shooting.
The damage she can do feels too low for how fragile she is. If the zombie has good aim and is alert, playing Nightcap becomes very difficult.
In my opinion, her mobility isnt in head to head combat like Imp, but in how Nightcap traverses the map. Shadow sneak allows her to jump large gaps and move very quickly, and is what I have the most fun with.
It's pretty helpful for flanking zombies quickly and aggressively.

@Pheesley  I tend to play all the characters fairly equally, all are 6-8 grandmaster 1 right now so it's completely possible that because I don't focus as much on one character, I miss things that aren't immediately obvious, like say the station shields pre-nerf, melee attacks not registering, and so on. It's entirely possible they may tweak her so she's more of a sneaky assassin rather than usually these days more of a ranged semi-sniper. She feels decent to play to me, and I don't feel she needs a nerf, that's for sure, but not saying she's 100% where she should be, just that she doesn't feel like she has a massive problem that stands out easily.

  • If you are playing on a big screen hd tv you can see nightcap blue cloud footprints while they are moving while invisible if you brighten your screen a little.

@Iron_Guard8 yeah, she is wierd at the very least. For awhile I thought she was bad, but i didnt know exactly why until I started player her more recently. Being able to snipe definitely helps her.
I just got her to Grandmaster 1 today. My highest is Grandmaster 3 with a few classes.

I can't agree with your post. Nightcap has been consistently OP since the beginning. It takes a bit of skill and strategy and ofcourse getting  adjusted to a different kind of playstyle. Nightcap is definitely weaker now compared to the previous nerf. Also, the parkour upgrade is the only thing that made the Nightcap really OP. Now, that it's been nerfed; Nightcap is in an alright place. Not too OP and not too bad.

I've made an extensive post on another thread on Nightcap's counters.

edit: can't say much about Fung Fu as I never use it (only for challenges). It just makes you too vulnerable. It's the same as Citron's Laser ability, Imp's Impkata, the Space Station's ground slam thing and 80s Rocket Ride (although this one does insane damage so it's risk/reward is not as bad as the other abilities)

If she stays the way she is now, I'll probably stop playing her. Not trying to make a big deal, but I just dont like her class design. Probably a problem I have with the design in general

I guess i just dont like the design of her Movement. I dont get it. Why make a character so slow while walking, but then put the mobility into her jumps and abilities? Because of Sprinting? I dont know why we couldn't just get a 75 HP character that can actually Walk fast.

The GW games got the movement right, and it blended well with the Gunplay. You could move at a decent pace in any direction, AND you could strafe. The Guns felt powerful for the most part, and landing shots were rewarded.

In BFN, the movement doesnt blend well with the Gunplay, and I feel this a lot when I play Nightcap. You have to hit someone multiple times, but then you also move very slow. If the Damage was really high overall, slow movement wouldnt matter. But what we have now is movement where in order to dodge you have to constantly hit the Jump Button, instead of simply moving at a good speed in any direction.

It's not fun to move so slow, but it also takes longer to get kills.

The Gunplay doesnt blend well with movement because you could be hitting a slow moving B hopping player multiple times, and then you die, and its super frustrating, especially when hit boxes are small. On top of that you can hardly dodge anything.

The movement to its fullest potential is B hopping and B - hopping to keep momentum. You can't strafe, backing up is too slow, there is no point for positioning in close quarters.

This game seems to have taken some inspiration from Overwatch, but the movement in Overwatch is simple, faster, and blends better with its gunplay. And I bet they have similar TTK.

@Provin915She can be really great at finishing off zombies, especially when they are distracted. I guess right now, Nightcap is more situational, and is about those special moments when the zombies dont see you coming. When I flank the zombie team and get a few kills, it feels nice.

Parkour getting nerfed was good, but I'm still not too sure about her current state... I guess she doesnt desperately need a change
