Re: Party variants cause crash

Do any error boxes come up when it crashes?  Does the whole computer turn off or just back to desktop?

Please post a DXDiag as described here

Repairing game from Origin may help.

Otherwise, I suspect it may be GPU or GPU software related?  Make sure your on the latest drivers and reset the default 3D Properties.  If you have any overlay programs (overwolf, msi gaming app, riviatuner, fraps, etc) try disabling them.

    It pops up with the usual "Garden Warfare 2 has stopped working", like when a program freezes and windows tries to fix it but cant.

    I rarely use fraps, and the only overlay i had running while the game crashed was the Origin one.

    I'm personally assuming its the particles. 🥳

    The crashes go like this;

    Glitter everywhere - slight frame drops - crash

    @Feelin-Woof

    Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000

    Driver Date/Size: 2/22/2012

     Name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M

    10/3/2015

    ------------------------------------------

    I believe what is happening is it's trying to use the HD4000 instead of the 650m.

    First:

    Go download the latest nVidia drivers here:

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    While installing them click Advanced -> tick Clean Install   (this will reset all 3D settings to defaults)

    (Restart if needed)

    Force the 650m to work like this:

    http://imgur.com/a/6KJBH#87BGUaE
    nVidia Control Panel -> 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> Add Program (PvZ:GW2) -> High Performance Processor

    ::::

    --------------------

    If that doesn't help at all and you still get the same error messages, please check here:

    Open Reliability Monitor and look for GW2 crashes

    http://www.howtogeek.com/166911/reliability-monitor-is-the-best-windows-troubleshooting-tool-you-arent-using/

    Click "View Technical Details" when/if you locate a GW2 crash.

    Fault Module line is what I'm interested in seeing.

  • I tried all this, and just now when i went to do infinity, i crashed again after getting surrounded and using the spinny attack. (Probably particles)

    I would use that Reliablilty monitor, if i knew where to find it. Q_Q (I has danish computer, everythings labelled VERY differently)

    @Feelin-Woof

    This should work on any language:

    Push WindowsKey + R  = bring up the RUN command window

    type =   perfmon /rel

  • It didnt. :[
    Computer's language is in danish, and it 90% of the time wont accept english.

    Edit;

    I found the reliability monitor, but i couldnt find any of the lines you mentioned.

    @Feelin-Woof

    Click around on different days and look for Red-X's from Garden Warfare 2.  When you click on it's name, it should have a blue "view technical details" beside it.

    They may not be there but I sure think they would be if it crashes with the windows error boxes.

    I'm still thinking it's related to your Intel HD Graphics and nVidia.  I'd double check your GPU drivers again.
