Re: Peashooter Character Challenges Guide
The character challenge tips I have for Peashooter are as follows:
Get 5,000 XP as Peashooter.
If you would like to get this challenge faster, use the "Levelling Up" upgrade (2 points), as you will gain XP 10% faster. This works even if your Peashooter is completely maxed (?). However, this extra XP does not help with earning other bulbs, except with this specific challenge. You simply have to play the game to earn this challenge. Skirmishes and Ops are effective ways of getting this challenge complete, as you can obtain this in 2-3 successful matches of either with minor difficulty. In PvP, you will want to earn as many vanquishes (direct and shared) as you can, as it's a good way of earning XP, especially if you are on a streak. And remember, even things such as multi-vanquishes, revives and assists (and others) work as well, any way of earning XP should be a good one. Hopefully you'll also make progress towards your other challenges. A tip you could do is work on your other challenges and come back to this one last if you haven't completed this one yet, because by the time you've completed your other challenges, hopefully you have already got this one.
Earn 200 Direct Hits as Peashooter.
This only means with the primary weapon (?). All direct hits deal critical damage. This means you can't do splash damage. Using your Pea Suped ability whenever possible while going for this challenge should help you a lot because you actually shoot faster during this ability, as well as moving faster and jumping higher. This challenge would prove to be much more easily achieved by battling bosses, especially ones that have a big hitbox, as you can easily land multiple direct shots on them. Ops and Skirmishes should also prove helpful because there are many enemies you can directly hit towards this challenge. In PvP, use your primary weapon against the enemies whenever you get the chance, and if you're having trouble hitting the enemy, try getting closer to them or aiming before you fire. Upgrades that can help with this include:
- Homing Pea, it costs 2 upgrade points, peas that you fire home on the enemy that you're targeting, making your shots less likely to miss. Just note this effect does not work if you are too far away from enemies.
Vanquish 15 Heroes with the Chilli Bean Bomb.
For this one, you must vanquish Heroes with it, not Browncoats or bosses. You are probably better suited to doing this challenge in PvP or in Battle Chests, as those modes consist of only Heroes. So any vanquish you get with the bomb will give you progress towards this challenge. In Ops or Skirmishes, try to throw it into a group of enemies, if Heroes are present. In objective games such as Turf Takeover and Gnome Bomb, if enemies are clustering the objective, throw that bomb in and go for gold! You can use your Pea Suped to get into the action and throw your Bean Bomb either further or faster (or both). Something you could try doing is getting behind the enemy and seeing if you can vanquish them from behind with your bomb. Upgrades that can help with this include:
- Bean Party, it costs 3 upgrade points, when you vanquish an enemy with the Chilli Bean Bomb, the ability refreshes faster.
- Pro Spitter, it costs 1 upgrade point, when you use the Chilli Bean Bomb, it travels further, which may or may not be useful.
- Combo, it costs 1 upgrade point, when you achieve multiple vanquishes quickly, all abilities refresh faster.
- Refreshing Revive, it costs 1 upgrade point, when you revive an ally, all abilities refresh faster.
- Critical Blow, it costs 3 upgrade points, when you earn a critical vanquish, all abilities refresh faster.
- Escape Roots, it costs 3 upgrade points, when you get a vanquish, you move faster for a short time, meaning you can get somewhere more hastily ready for your next bomb.
- Feed the Beast, it costs 4 upgrade points, when you deal damage during Pea Suped, your abilities refresh faster.
Vanquish 25 Enemies with Pea Gatling.
This challenge does not matter who you vanquish with the Gatling (well, it must be an enemy). As this ability does high damage but you can't move during it, it's probably better to do it in Giddy Park or Ops, as you can use this ability to destroy Browncoats. Skirmishes are also effective, as you're required to defeat multiple enemies and they tend to swarm. You can use your Pea Suped to get a height advantage or to move a distance away before activating and firing away with the Gatling. It's probably better to target Browncoats when using this ability, and saving your Bomb for the Heroes, if doing so in PvE. If doing in PvP, try to activate it where no one can see, and then open fire on a single target, until you get the vanquish, rinse and repeat until you get vanquished, you used up all your ammo, or there's no enemy to fire at. Upgrades that can help with this include:
- Reload Gatling, it costs 2 upgrade points, you gain ammo for your Pea Gatling when you deal critical damage with it.
- Explosive Gatling, it costs 3 upgrade points, when you vanquish an enemy with the Pea Gatling, they explode. If another enemy gets vanquished by this explosion, I believe it counts as a Pea Gatling vanquish, because you use the ability to get the vanquish in the first place.
- Feed the Beast, it costs 4 upgrade points, when you deal damage during Pea Suped, your abilities refresh faster.
NOTE: I don't know if the "Party Time" (5 upgrade points) upgrade would help, as you are supposed to deal additional damage for a short time after getting multiple vanquishes. Does this work with Gatling? 🤔
Deal 2,500 Damage during Pea Suped.
It doesn't matter who you deal damage to, and it doesn't matter if you vanquish anyone for this challenge. But you must have your Pea Suped ability active when doing this challenge to make progress towards it. This is probably most effective against bosses, as you can deal lots of damage to it, and with the extra attack speed that this ability provides, this should not take too long to obtain. Using this ability near a group of enemies can prove effective as you can deal lots of damage to them with splash damage. So, skirmishes, Ops and Battle Chests (most notably the ones with bosses), can also prove very effective. In PvP, try to activate this ability when there are many enemies as you have the ability to do damage to multiple of them, especially near objectives. Remember while using this ability you can also jump higher and move faster, as well as being able to hover. Upgrades that can help with this include:
- Homing Pea, it costs 2 upgrade points, peas that you fire home on the enemy that you're targeting, making your shots less likely to miss. Just note this effect does not work if you are too far away from enemies.
- Combat Adrenaline, it costs 3 upgrade points, it extends the duration of your Pea Suped ability every time you earn a vanquish.
- Last Ditch, it costs 3 upgrade points, you deal slightly more damage with the last pea in each clip of ammo. Helps to deal more damage, even if slowly.
That's all there is for now. Hopefully that helps all of you who need help with these challenges! 😃
