Re: Plants vs Zombies on Mac

Hi @flixxgetter

Unfortunately many games are unavailable on mac for no particular reason apart from the fact that it is apple. Look with Overwatch I think a lot of Mac players would like to play it.

It will always be an eternal problem.

Someone, however, will probably be able to answer you in more detail of the why for this game.

However we need to be realistic, if you want to play without problems you need a pc.

If we have answer to your question please accept solution, if you like a post please granted xp 🙂.

The game engine used in creating this game, Frostbite, is not designed to support either Nintendo Switch*1 or Mac OS. The market share of Mac OS is only 14.37% vs 79.1% for Windows OS, and that could be a factor to why EA decided not to work on it. The cost of supporting Mac OS and having fewer customors isn't worth it to them, because not all the 14.37 % would buy the game.

On the other hand, Unreal Engine, the engine behind Fortnite and other popular games, is designed to support many platforms, and that's why you see many games, using the same engine, ported and compatible with most platforms.

*1 There are old rumors that EA were working on porting the engine to switch here.
