Re: Plants vs. Zombies Won't Open - VC++ error

I recently got the game for christmas on a card. I input the card and got it on origin. When the day and a half download finished, it popped up an error.

"error the vc++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully" I looked this problem up on youtube and saw that I go to the file

"vcredist_x64" So I found the file, ran it as administrator, but 3/4 of a way through it popped up in a little error page

"Object already exists"

To be honest, I expected to have every little error possible, due to my horrible luck with having something that is actually fun.

So I followed the link like you said, downloaded the one vcredist that had the same (x64) and ran it.

It also popped up "Object already exists"

Everybody replies with "thank you" or the chain just ends, so has nobody else had this problem?

you have some .NET wierdness with your 64bit MSI... try this fixit (though admitedly I havent ever gotten it to work myself... I cross my fingers for you)

there are a couple of other manual paths as well in that KB if you are a little more ambitious, but you have some work to do as it looks like you have in install corruption somewhere (and the painful part is it might not even be the PvZ install that did it, but it gets to feel the pain anyway).
