    Got same issue.

PC has plenty of spec but each time opening PvZ Garden Warfare 2, black screen.

Version 1 has been running on this machine for several months without issue.

Have even unistalled and reinstalled twice to check I'm not going mad and double-checked firewall/security not blocking.

Quite possibly something at our end that could not have been foreseen in product testing but the lack of any response at all makes diagnostics v hard.

    Any ideas much appreciated ...

    Try setting Windowed Borderless.

I don't have it installed yet so I don't even know if this is right.. but I'd assume it'd be something like:

    Documents\PvZ2\PROF_SAVE_profile

    GstRender.FullscreenMode 2

    GstRender.FullscreenScreen 1

    WootCandy,

Saw that suggestion elsewhere but without success.  Beginning to think my PC spec might be at fault but I don't think so:

    Win7 64bit

    Intel i7-3770 (8 CPUs) - 3.5GHz

    16GB RAM

    Directx 11

AMD Radeon HD 7800 series with 4GB

...can't be the PC, surely ?

Possibly open up your Catalyst Control Center, go to Advanced view.

Under 3D Settings // 3D Properties, default them.

    -

Alternatively, uninstall CCC from Control Panel.

Run Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode and clean AMD drivers.

    Restart and installed latest

    ---------------------

    Another thing to test.

Disable Origin in Game from the Origin Client.

This game needs it for certain things (like the original I assume).

If that allows it to launch... check around your running programs you may have another overlay program interfering (like Fraps, RiviaTuner, overwolf, etc).  Origin in Game and other overlay software do not get along and OiG is pretty much required I believe for this title (not sure to what extent yet but I'd assume inviting and the store).

Your tenacity in trying to resolve issues for folk is amazing!

Sadly neither of those ideas changes the symptoms.

Frankly the software is clearly pretty poor if it can't make a diagnosis of issues pre-launch or immediately post- . Not that impressive for a long-hearlded game.

Will keep trying but right now I have a life to lead, rather than sorting out my young lad's games.

Thanks so much for assisting ...
