I guess you are right. after playing as her, I realize she NEEDS that power to survive. but there must be some way to accomplish that without making her annoying. maybe limit the amount of nightcaps on a team? or just reduce damage to 13 or 15 from 17.
- @DoomEternalHype She really doesn't need any more nerfs - a whole team of them is annoying without doubt, but so is a team of Scientists or Imps turning to Mechs every couple of minutes.... and don't get me started on those AWFUL showcase weeks we used to have in GW2 where you'd end up against an entire team of Toxic Brainz! 🤯
At the end of the day, some players are better with her than others. I'm afraid you just got unlucky. - DoomEternalHype6 years agoNew Hotshot
guess I need to find a good counter then. my whole post is just toxic.
- @DoomEternalHype In a funny way, just playing Night Cap yourself will help you - you'll find out her strengths as well as her weaknesses - what she finds hard to deal with 👍
- @DoomEternalHype Nah, give in to the dark side! ha, ha. I'm enjoying it.
- @Gormey Behave!! 🤣🤣🤣
- @DoomEternalHype You guess you'll need to find a good counter then? This is really telling of you to say. Maybe you just expected to run over NC like all the other plants without trying.

.... it’s a bit of a rough crowd. I remember being ostracized for predicting Zombies would be overpowered after upcoming patch notes were released once. Really. It was bad enough, we just closed the thread.
I’m pretty much anti-nerf and wish everyone could kill at a quicker rate.
- @spIash_damage Agree to be honest I still find running away too easy for most chars, higher dps for all! I unloaded three clips from imp into a sunflower getting healed by another sunflower and couldn't kill her.
- @Gormey If we increase DPS at all then we’ll need dropoff (cough cough GW noises)
- @SockReverie No man they should jack the dps up on all chars...if you shoot someone in the back they should die...not so in bfn.
In terms of countering nightcap there are plenty of options. Just from my three most mained zombies...
1. Deadbeard. Full stop. One shot everytime. When I play Deadbeard more Nightcaps means more kills for me, I love to see a team of them.
2. 80s hero, rocket ride is reliable basically hard counter to Fung fu. A full charged bow blaster often fatal. Dynamite dodge also can be used to escape Fung fu and deal damage.
3. Imp. Nightcap cannot survive an Impkata if you get it off before the Fung fu (which takes an age to activate). Nightcap cannot survive the mech rocket attack. Faster rate of fire gives the edge in gunfights, as both characters are small and mobile and missed shots are less important when you are firing faster.
The reality is there are annoying players playing all characters, you are gonna run into them occasionally.

@spIash_damage honestly NC isn't that big of a deal in TT either. Yes, she can break into the back line and wreak havoc, but that's one of her main purposes. Stealthy characters in any of these games get a lot of ire directed at them, and NC is no exception, but if I'm having issues with her on a particular character, I'll often switch to something else or change tack so I'm less vulnerable to this kind of thing.
Basically every character played well can be difficult to deal with and each game is a bit different, learning to adapt is part of the game. Yes, at time characters need serious buffs/nerfs but I don't think NC is one of those characters at this time.
- @Iron_Guard8 Even back in Founders, Nightcap was a character that just needed to be adapted to. Sneaking up and spamming Fung fu would only work so many times. Once I started adapting to her, I began to think she wasnt very good to begin with. (Besides Parkour)
The other day I was playing Wizard, and a Nightcap snuck up on me, and took the first few shots. Granted, this Nightcap didnt jump at all, so all they did was walk with their slow walking. No abilities used, all I did was turn around and shoot her to death, and Wizard isnt quite a DPS class. Such a bad character that walks too slow and relies too much on jumping in head to head combat.
She's just TF2 Spy with only a gun.
