Re: Pvz gw2 keeps studdering

I'm having lag issues also with this game. I have a geforce Gt 610 Windows 10-64 bit. Unable to figure out how to get the game to play without lag

A GT610 is unlikely to play the game very well.

You can try reducing all settings in-game to their lowest values.

    Disable all running programs.

Open up nVidia Control Panel, go to 3D Properties for PvZ2.exe, reduce all the settings you can.

Example of 3D settings off top of my head

Power Management = Max, Texture Filter = Performance/Low, Vsync = off, Single Display mode, AA = Off, Pre-rendered Frames (need to test with it)

You may be able to dive deeper into the game's settings by editing the ini files located in Documents.  I do not have any examples off the top of my head for this title yet.  If you mess it up, you can delete the Documents files and they will rebuild as default next launch.

*Reduce the resolution the game is in.

** This may or may not work in PvZGW2

    Open Notepad.
    Copy and Paste this:

    RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
    PerfOverlay.DrawGraph 0
    PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
    PostProcess.DofMethod 0
    PostProcess.BlurMethod 0
    PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
    PostProcess.DynamicAOMethod 0
    Render.VSyncFlashTestEnable 0
    WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
    WorldRender.MotionForceOn 0
    WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
    WorldRender.SpotlightShadowmapResolution 256
    WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
    RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 0
    RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable 0
    RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 0
    RenderDevice.VSyncEnable 0
    RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
    GameTime.MaxVariableFps 30

    Save it as "user.cfg"
Place this file inside your PvZ:GW2 install folder (i.e. Origin Games usually) You cannot have user.cfg.txt enable "View Extentions of Known File Types" from Folder Options in Control Panel

GT610 is pretty far below the requirements.  I do not think it'll be possible to get a decent experience out of it.

    Sorry

I appreciate the response. Any suggestion on another card. The game was 60 bucks I don't want to get crazy with an expensive video card.

Problem is if the computer has a GT610 now, it's unlikely a beefy medium-end GPU could be placed in without upgrading the Power Supply.  It depends.  There may also be no room for a full-sized card since most GT610's I've seen are half-height cards.  If your PC is really slim and can only fit half-height cards there is very few options but there are options (albeit probably not the best for AAA gaming overall).  If your PC is a full tower (can fit full cards) then check your Power Supply to see what it can support.

That website I watch almost every day.  They have a good amount of PC parts listed everyday.  With patience you can get some real deals.

A GTX960 runs about $180 retail and on sale probably can get it down to $150.  That's probably the horse power I'd be looking for though to satisfy Performance and Budget.  Can likely drop down another step and still play this game pretty well but the further down the ladder you go the quicker you'll run into this problem again for future games.

Here are charts on how they stack up to competition and older cards.

Buying a used card is an option too.  Older beefier cards will likely require even more juice however and I'm betting your Power Supply isn't going to handle much without replacing it.  It may not even have power connectors higher end GPUs require.

Thank you for your time and response. I'm sooo in the stone age with this stuff.

Guess I'll post my specs, some of them anyways...

    GeForce GTX 750

    8 GB

    Windows 7 64 bit

    Quad Core 3.80

So yeah...for the most part it runs ok...but at times the framerate starts dropping for a couple of seconds here and there. Not only that my mouse stops responding for split seconds, which gets annoying when you're being attacked and you just end up sitting there doing nothing.
