Re: Request for TV
@Gormey Well because playing with others you personally know is much more fun?
Why should someone who let's say has a console and wants a friend to join in splitscreen tell that friend: "No, I won't let you join, someone else might think of it as unfair." And the other person would have to stare at the screen without anything to do.
Groups larger than 2 people might be a problem but then again, they should be allowed to enjoy the game like everyone else. On console at least I rarely see groups with more than 2 players and nobody uses voice chat so there isn't any advantage. You're just in the same lobby and can see the same fun things the others do and discuss them later. Like when another 2 player group playing split screen customized their acorns to look just like ours and we had a lot of fun.
Then again, I can understand your frustration playing on pc as the community is basically dead and only high ranks form groups to dominate lobbies. On Console that isn't the case.
In addition, groups are an awesome way of introducing new players to the game and making sure they don't immediately and continuously die and therefore stop playing the game.
And personally, I always try to switch to the weaker team and try to support them. Sadly, that's always the plants. Therefore I end up with the people I'm in a group with in the plant team a lot because otherwise, the plants wouldn't stand a chance.
Players in the same group should continue to be allowed in the same team (at least on console) as it is the only way of having a chance to not be obliterated in an all steam blaster, Brainium Basher and normal Super Brainz lobby.
I actually prefer people I know being in the opposing team because they know which strategies I will most likely use and plan accordingly. As a max rank I end up performing well most of the time, so having someone experienced and similar in skill in the other team is a really nice challenge.
If I had to play alone I would have lost interest in the game months ago.
