Re: Season's Eatingz Upgrade

Not going to lie, I wasn't exactly thrilled to see this pack for sale but full disclosure, I did get it. Edit: I can't recommend getting this pack even if I did get it as I don't feel it's worth 10 bucks for what we get. If not for my OCD I wouldn't have gotten it.

The Electric Slide costume is really good, and the Kernel Corn one is solid too, but more punchers and victory slabs? Unless the game implements the idea I've posted about before to let us use slabs/punchers for each character/build set up, there's no point to more of them.

As others have posted here, I wish you guys had waited to get everything tuned in before selling this pack. It isn't pay to win, but part of the PvZ shooters' enjoyment has been unlocking customizations, when you add the current issues the game is still suffering from it feels jarring and reminds me of what is happening in the current train wreck of Fallout 76 with them selling things for a game that is still a mess in many ways. If the game is going to be a long term one like it appears it's planned to be, I don't mind putting more money into the game as I did buy coin packs in both GW games to help support them, but at least get the game stable and address the biggest problems before adding monetization or you're going to feel a lot of resentment towards the game.

I was going to edit the previous post but I thought it'd be better to be separate (and people were reacting to that post so felt better just to add a new one).

I'm almost up to 500k coins after emptying the reward-o-tron. This makes coins feel useless now and I used to go out of my way to break stuff in the free roam zones for coins and region currency. Sitting on all these coins is honestly annoying when you are selling cosmetics and my coins have nothing to do in game right now! It honestly feels like some core systems are missing or underdeveloped and the more I think about this pack, the less of a good idea it appears to be at this time.

As others here and as Zero pointed out in a video, the pack comes with no rainbow stars? I know we can't use them yet but Rux is going live in December so it would have made sense to include them. The fact that the pack is 10 bucks but has no currency makes it less useful than the packs in GW2 and people didn't like them all that much in the first place. These 2 costumes should have been in the upcoming Feastivus prize map or added to the reward-o-tron and not for additional cash.

A friend who doesn't play the PvZ shooters that much but had got into Founders on the last week or so and I ran through a lot of plant's town center yesterday and some TT matches on Friday night and he commented on how much fun he had in the game. You should be cultivating that, getting the issues fixed and once the game is stable, aiming is better, movement is better, lag is handled, balance is closer to a baseline for all characters, PC issues are fixed, etc. only then should you be selling stuff like this and they should either be cheaper or include more for the cost. I know people are happy to burn tons of money on OW crates to get that one skin they really want and for some reason never complain,  but don't do it here. With some veterans of the series upset about the lack of variants and so many core changes, doing this while we are still having problems is extremely bad optics and is exasperating even people like me that have loved these games for years.

At the end of the day, EA and PopCap are companies, they exist to make money and we all understand that. I don't begrudge paying money for something I want to support and some will argue that it's 'cosmetic only' but this pack coming while the game is fun but has so many issues comes off under a very negative light.

  • I have another problem with this being sold now - people are using the Christmas customisations in NOVEMBER!!!!! 😡
