- @linger4606 I agree 20 is too high for just a colour change.
Also pretty hard being a stealthy Chomper when you're bright pink! I think more of the zombies need colourful "Hey, I'm over here!" outfits . . . I took a brief look at the Prize Map when my son logged on after school today and I was disappointed in what I saw.
For one, they have restructured the route through the Prize Map so that it looks like it now costs more Bulbs to get to the end since they eliminated the ability to rapidly advance across the bottom route. Now the restructured route forces you to weave through a longer route. This isn't really a huge problem if you managed to be able to complete a good portion of the Map previously as you'll probably still reach the costume/upgrade combo at the end in what I estimate to be twice the amount of time you could before.
I also see that they doubled the Bulb cost of the more noteworthy costumes along the way. that's definitely going to affect a lot of people and their ability to finish the Prize Map and I strongly suspect that this is another FOMO psychological tactic to drive people towards spending real world money to purchase Prize Bulbs to get everything before the Prize map goes away since these cosmetics and costumes truly seem to be available only from the Maps and it's likely that anything you miss will be gone at least until the Prize Maps repeat- assuming that we will see the identical Maps every year (assuming we're all still playing after 12 months).
EDIT: I've had a chance to get hands on with the Prize Map and between the 50 Bulbs I was carrying from the last Festival, finishing the first Character Challenge (Acorn), the two daily challenges and the handful of Bulbs earned through XP while I did those I was able to get 20/42 places into the Map so it may not take much longer to get to the end for the Costume and Upgrade. In practice it looks like the 20 Bulb cosmetics are at dead-ends so that they don't appear to act as roadblocks to progressing down the map (and since most people would detour around these initially anyway). The real grind will be finishing the entire thing with the extra Bulb cost added into the total.
- @realitysquared Yes and I'm also very unhappy that they've added the ability for you to purchase bulbs for rainbow stars within the prize map itself.
If you go to purchase an item for which you do not have enough bulbs, it will take you to an option to buy bulb packs.
It's yet another form of pressure.
I can also imagine this causing all sorts of problems with young children or a younger sibling in split-screen going ahead with an exchange (let's call it) accidentally or without really understanding the deal.
Really not impressed with this. - @ToastedSarnie As much as I hate to admit it this will probably be the last PvZ game which I ever purchase.
I'm having far less fun with BfN than I ever did GW2 and I can only place the blame on Turf Takeover being broken, OPs being short and largely boring and the monetization and grind being far more present and in your face than ever before. - @realitysquared Mmmm. Monetization is one thing, pressure is another.
It's incredibly sad. - @ToastedSarnie Man its like they are playing Limbo with each update! How low can they possibly steep! Truly incredible that with each update they somehow continue to make everyone even more bitter, while making absolutely ZERO effort to fix anything. Too far to stop now I guess, keep going lower!
Exactly!!! Forced into $. Nickel and diming game
