Providing that you signed into the right account what you are seeing is most likely caused by a communication problem between your game and the servers which is bad enough to prevent your game from retrieving your data, like what characters you have and how many coins or stars you have, but not bad enough to actually break the connection with an error.

What you'll need to do is simply wait for a bit so that whatever transient problem is happening can go away or get fixed; rebooting your game alone probably isn't going to solve the issue since it's more likely to be something either between you and the servers or with the servers themselves.
