Re: The Game is really laggy, help please?

you need a system that can run a game. You're going to have a hard time gaming in general with that system.

Turning off windows visual effects is one option to get a little extra FPS

1. Open Performance Information and Tools by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type Performance Information and Tools, and then, in the list of results, click Performance Information and Tools.

2. Click Adjust visual effects. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3. Click the Visual Effects tab, click Adjust for best performance, and then click OK. (For a less drastic option, select Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer.)

for more wayws to improve your performance:

You can also go to control panel  >  hardware and sound > power options. Many systems run on low or balanced performance. High performance will run a game better at the cost of heating up your system and reducing the life span

  • I can actually run alot of games perfectly fine, with little to no lag. I can run Minecraft, Scribblenauts, Kerbal Space Program, and a few other games perfectly fine!

  • OMG THANK YOU! YOU SOLVED MY PROBLEM! You, my man, get 1 trillion dollars. Thanks!

  • No, I changed the performance settings. I already read someone elses post before about the power, but it didn't work.

oh the windows visuals? I used to have a laptop that would actually struggle to run league of legends. Removing almost all the visuals on windows gave me an additional 10-15fps. I keep a couple things checked so it doesn't look like windows 98. I can't tell a difference really

  • I know the OP's "problem" was fixed but I believe there is some latency problems with either the matchmaking or the servers hosting the game (unless this is using client-side hosting which i hope not but i'm not sure).

I am VERY positive it is not my computer as I have 2 different computers at 2 different locations playing this and they both experience the same issues. Spec-wise they should be able to handle this game like a walk in the park. Both are Core i7's with 16 GB of RAM and SSD drives. For video cards one is on a GTX590 and the other GTX770. Both are on Windows 7 Pro 64. So that's out of the way. Now when the game was originally released i do remember an issue with SLI/Crossfire causing stuttering (it was an issue with my 590) and an option change temp-fixed it and further on a patch release resolved it completely. But that only affected me when i was shooting in game and only on the one computer.

Lately I have been experiencing what has to be NETWORK latency. Started about 2 patches ago when i believe suburbination mode was released (or maybe prior to that one, can't be specific). But what i see is EXTREME latency when getting NEAR other players. Movement becomes very sporadic and sometimes the game registers I'm dead but i can still move on my side for a few moments until it registers on my end. Things of that nature. For internet connections one is a Comcast 50 Mbps connection and the other is an ATT DSL 6 Mbps connection, both more than enough for a shooter at this day and age. Definitely NOT my connections. This lag i see in about 75% of the games i connect to. Sometimes it connects me to an empty server altogether and i stay and let it populate and the lag still appears. I see this lag less in the Mix Mode game mode so i suspect it could be server load since that one caps at 8v8.

My question I guess is HOW is the matchmaking done? Does it ping me and find a low latency server nearby or does it connect me to Russia or something just cause its the first one on its list? Is the hosting of the games being done on an EA/PopCap server or are we the players doing the hosting (a la MWNet mode)?

I hope someones looking in to this cause this is a great game and i'd hate to see it suffer the way BF4 did initially.

    thanks,

    Ed

  • Hey guys, this has nothing to do with graphics, isn't a case of stuttering, but of serious server lag / rubberbanding, it's EA fault al 100%... hoping that they are going to fix it asap.

It seems that the extreme lag and rubberbanding is fixed, the server quality is still not so great but it runs much better than yesterday.
It' s the same for you, guys?

Game developers must know that servers are very important!! I know that on consoles it will run very well. Before putting Game on PC market make good servers dont do it just because of money.... do it for use. it is very simple.

EA should put more money in GAMES (ORIGIN) to get qaulity.... So basically PVZ Gardenwarfare is great game but also for great MP experience you should have good servers.

Servers in 2014 should have 60Hz tickrate ...

EA you killed BF4 also PVZ GW is showing bad side... you want to kill PC gaming?

PS: I know that is users forum only!
