Re: Uninstalling then reinstalling, will I lose all my data?

No you won't loose your data by uninstalling/reinstalling.

Your BSOD are caused by a problem with your computer not this game.  Promise you.

Post crash logs to the game and post your BSOD information.  Likely a driver is messed up.

BlueScreenView program can help quiet a bit... but it certainly isn't the "best" way to track down the issue... by far the easiest though.

Crash Logs:

Start -> type "Reliability" -> View Reliability History -> Find Crash -> Right Click -> View Technical Details

I'm 90% sure you are wasting your time by uninstalling/reinstalling.

  • Thanks for the info. And yes I have to do a reinstall because I was in the middle of a "repair file" for the game and comp crashed. Then when I went back into Origin it said I needed to "update" the game. Selecting update does nothing for me and it sits at zero percent updated forever. And when I try to play either my character is invisible and can not use abilities or it crashes. So I have no choice but to uninstall and reinstall since the game will not update for me after that crash in the middle of doing the file repair.

My computer sat in the repair shop for 5 days with them trying to figure out why PVZGW crashes on me. Last resort they say is to do a wipe and reinstall windows which means I lose all my programs.

Until then, I wanted to try and play the next two nights. So far not luck. Trying the reinstall now. Thanks again.

Ah yeah fresh install sounds good then.

Make sure your Display Drivers are fully updated.

If you keep getting BSOD's dig into it a bit, there usually is a pretty good indication of what causes it.  Like a .sys file that is used for a specific peice of harware.
