Just Tell Us.
Look. Barry, EA, Popcap, whichever. You've seen all these reports, the major influx of them coming into the forums, social media accounts... and all that.
At the very least, to any community manager or moderator or- heck, even the janitor at whatever remains of the studio that made this game, at least tell us you can or can't do anything about this whole hacker situation.
Like, just straight up. Tell us. Tell us that there's actually a chance that these reports are doing anything, that everything posted here since the start of this month until today wasn't just an effort of futility; a waste of time for everyone involved. Because you might as well just stop moderating this part of the forums at this rate.
I'm going to be honest with you. Yes, you, the reader of this post, be it an admin or just a fellow player. I'd take an official statement saying that GW2's PC servers are getting shut down over seeing it be ransacked like this. Really, I would.
There's a bunch of really dedicated people out there keeping the game alive. Mainly, the folks on the console versions. That's respectable work, and they're a real solid community. But even then, this specific branch of the game is still dying off, no matter how many "revivals" happen, no matter the content creators who barely even touch the PC version. If nobody does anything about it, we're as good as Concord and Highguard.
To EA_Barry :This whole shebang sounds targeted, and it pretty much is, but I'm not holding anything against you. At the end of the day, you're just a general community manager doing their job. I just hope you can give us more to work with than preset responses that assume this game still has a semblance of an active development team behind it. Throw us a bone to gnaw on.
