Re: Upgrade Ideas

@Iron_Guard8Some of these sound really mode specific and the last thing I want in a new game is everyone just playing turf 24/7 like bfn.

Saving multiple builds needs to be a thing.

2 having bfn's point system to prevent everyone just picking health, ammo, and reload would've been nice.

I kinda like the healer one as it's not blatant and helps your team.

Imo the one thing they have to better at if they keep remnants of the upgrade system is to actually show us what the heck our opponent is using in a match as bfn upgrade symbols bleed into each other and you can never tell what their using in bfn.

I feel that in order to bring variants back and have the upgrade system a lot of the upgrades are gonna have to be a lot more basic like the ones in 2.

@stukapooka I always forget that console players tend to have more than just TT matches. On PC, things used to more varied but it's been G&G and TT almost exclusively on PC for a long time. Mixed mode used to be huge on GW.

I wonder if the next game should only have mixed mode with all game modes and the only separate one would be whatever the current event was. TT is my favorite mode but I don't want to play only TT and nothing else.

@Iron_Guard8 They to make the other modes more appealing as turf gives the most coins.

Bfn turf was also the only mode with 12v12.

Suburbination had the awful point changes, gnome bomb has the sprint/camping problem, and confirmed is just worse team vanquish that is almost twice as long.

They really need to do more with these modes and people would play them.

@stukapooka In PC's case, people gravitate to the most played mode to get matches, which may be people finding out the coin values and then everyone else following them.

When GW first added Taco Bandits, it was easy to get games of that and the other modes too. Only G&G these days which is sad. When I want to play on the other maps, it's Garden Ops or nothing. I was even in at least one Zack Scott video with Taco Bandits back then.

I've been having issues coming up with more upgrades as they kind of slam into alternate abilities and I have more fun with those to be honest.

@Iron_Guard8 I get it. Turf is the most popular even on console. They really need to incentivise reasons to play the other modes, maybe more coins?

The upgrade system being next to variants will have to require to go back to more basic ideas imo as alternate abilities like long bomb are more fun when they aren't an upgrade that just makes imp punt go slightly farther.
