Rose is incredible, Citron is pants

After playing through the 10 hour trial I've got to say the Rose is incredible, the damage plus fast fire rate for long range coupled with abilities to render people useless at close range makes her the only plant worth playing. A team of Rose's can seriously dominate any game.

The Citron on the other hand is now just rubbish, his lack of damage plus fast burn out time on his cannon makes it extremely difficult to kill anything.

Other things of note, the base Cactus' primary fire seems odd. She was a great long range sniper but the fire delay makes it actually harder to hit things at long range and she has zero utility at close range. The base Cactus was my overall favourite character from the first GW.

From a Zombie perspective I actually think they are evenly matched. The Imp might be a little too weak however.

  • Rose is strong yeah. Gonna expect a nerf eventually. She sure didn't needed the buff she got in beta.

Citron is actually pretty decent for me. I barely got any trouble killing anyone with him even with the shorter overheat. Plus he do his job as a tank very well.

Cactus having zero utility in close range...Well he's a sniper,of course he's bad in close range lol, although I didn't tried him yet to be fair.

Imp might have got a tad overnerfed yeah, but it still useful overall. I say just buff impkata damage a bit and he should be fine.

I honestly thought the Citron just wasn't worth the effort considering how much better the Rose was.

In regards to the Cactus, in the first game it's fire was more like a laser, when you fired it hit the target almost instantly. It now seems more like a bullet with a delay on when you fire to when it hits the target making long range sniping more awkward. She's still effective, just less so especially when she's primarily a long range character. If that makes sense lol.

  • I tried cactus a bit in Backyard battleground. He always have a small delay but it was barely notifiable. It might have seemed tad slower for me in GW2 too. Or that just because the projectile is different. Guess we both just need to get used to it now.

  • I played yesterday with both sunflower and peashooter and I was able to do very well. No reason for not playing these two, need to try the cactus tomorrow, however in beta I ended often between 20 and 30 kills.

I agree with the Rose if it doesn't get a nurf I'd have to say they are smoking something. As for the citron I haven't played much of him yet but his laser overheating really quick did seem like a problem. It seems like he got nurfed a little to much.
  • Definitely, agree. It's fairly annoying to play 5-6 player Rose teams. Ive left lobbies because of it. I'm not sure what they can do to fix her. The magic thistle range for one is way to far. Could probably reduce that or reduce the damage. Also maybe reduce the RPM.

  • I may have to play the heck outta her tonight so I can take advantage of her before the full game is released... and have her reach level 50 before everyone else comes on.
