A few more questions and a suggestion
I have seen many people use the Peashooter gesture and the victory plate before the prize map launched. Only a small percentage of these players is going to check the forums and therefore, many aren't going to get their rainbow stars back.
Because of this, I want the developers to make a pop-up appear in-game informing everybody about this issue and how it can be resolved.
Questions about support:
Does it matter if I don't remember how many rainbow stars I paid for the gesture?
Is support going to refund the exact number of stars without me telling them how many I spent?
Could we get a few more rainbow stars as a compensation for the time we had to sacrifice in order to get this fixed 😉 (please)?
Does the support team know they are going to receive a lot of messages about this, so they can prepare accordingly?
Do they need any info from me except maybe my PSN Id?
Questions for and message to the developers
Rux is still selling firework gestures for all characters that haven't had any so far. Is this intentional?
Until now all firework gestures have been featured in prize maps.
Are new ones only going to be purchasable at Rux's store, or are they meant for future prize maps and accidentally for sale?
Or are they going to be handed out for free in future prize maps and users have to pay for the "privilege" of owning them before the new prize map arrives?

I believe support should be able to see the value of the item from the logs, but unfortunately I don't think they can give extra compensation. Yes I believe there should be some notification to support that they may see more contacts on this issue.
I believe they'll usually use your email address for account verification rather than your PSN ID, but that ID can be helpful for tracking down the relevant account.
For clarity, sometimes items will become available on the prize map after going on sale, this is fine. However when this item comes up on the Prize map, it should be already acquired, and it's the rare cases of it not being unlocked, that's something to be looked into.
Sorry, re-reading your initial post I may have misunderstood and conflated it with some other issues I was looking at.
Another thing I forgot to mention: The peashooter gesture was still being sold at my Rux when the prize map with the gesture included launched. If I hadn't bought it 3 hours earlier, I could have easily not noticed it was in the prize map and bought it at Rux's store then. So there was a time window where the gesture was both available for free at the Prize map and for money at Rux's.

Community AdminCalling or live chats are usually your best option, and there isn't a huge time pressure when doing a live chat, so that may be the best option. Usually a live contact is needed for verification, if there'd be any account change.
The specific category doesn't matter all that much, if there isn't a category that doesn't exactly match, that's fine.
Sorry for posting about this again, but I want to comment on the developers thinking selling stuff at Rux's Store only to give it away for free in future prize maps is "fine".
As you know by now, I don't like it.
It is only going to stop me from spending money on the game in the future.
I don't think all these firework gestures the latest patch added were initially intended to be sold at Rux's store, either.
The official roadmap clearly states "new content in prize map" for all of these months.
In the past, it said new content at Rux's store when they added stuff to his shop.
There is no remark about new Rux content anywhere.
This makes it clear to me that the PvZ Team decided to make some more money from prize map content.
