Rux just handed me 500 rainbow stars

And apparently things in the store are on sale! Go check it out!

Edit - and by "on sale" I don't just mean "available for purchase!" Larger prices are crossed out and lower prices are being charged!

  • Ma'am!  Shut the front door!!!! Headed there now.

EDIT:  Merry stinkin Christmas...!  It worked for me, too!  Bravo, EA/Popcap... super stoked at this effort!

  • @TLEsquireThey need to remove the whole reduced price/sale signs. The devs do realise doing stuff like that is illegal in certain countries right? For example the UK. You cant say something is on sale when it was never offered at the full price for a set period of time. Fallout 76 went through massive legalities last year when it tried to sell stuff that were ‘on sale’ when they were never offered at the full price displayed.

    https://www.lawdonut.co.uk/business/marketing-and-selling/consumer-protection/unfair-trading-trade-descriptions-and-pricing-faqs#UTTDP18

Above is an article detailing unfair trading regulations in the uk. Bullet point 18 titled: “What are the rules on claiming that products are in a sale or on special offer?”

states that: “to claim that products are on sale, you should show the previous price and should have been selling at that price for a meaningful period of time”

due to Rux’s store having not offered these products at their full price ever, this breaches the unfair trading regulations act in the UK and is therefore an illegal activity.

Does anyone want to alert the devs of this breach?

@RockScorpion384 I imagine they have a legal team but perhaps they didn't look into this. When it came to sale prices in the link you sent, the only point that might apply to this situation (selling at regular price for a meaningful amount of time) was worded as a "should" rule which indicates there may be wriggle room there. Without reading the actual statutes, referencing applicable court cases and/or being licensed to practice law in the UK, I can't know if they are breaking any sort of regulation. Maybe? I really don't know. They monitor these posts so if it hasn't been considered before I imagine they will look into it now.
  • @TLEsquire Based off of what the ASA (the advertising standards authority who regulate advertising here in the UK) says on their website the products

“higher reference price should have been charged for a longer period of time than the promotional price”

Since this is the first time these products have been offered it entirely breaches this point. Like i said Fallout 76 went through the exact same scenario last xmas where they offered christmas cosmetics at a ‘reduced price’ despite them never being at the full reference price. They devs were forced to remove the ‘reduced’ tags

That acorn skin is wicked. I hope it comes back around some day soon since there is no way to earn enough this month to get it.

With the 500 gift and the 150 free on the map, we only need 350 stars to achieve that A/O greatness!

I’m holding out hope tomorrow unveils a way to EARN more Stars.

I’m all but sure we will be able to earn more through Weekly Challenges, too.

@RockScorpion384 I'm in the UK as well & that also struck me as a bit naughty. It might've been slightly different if Rux had been selling other items for a higher price for a while, but you can't have a sale price on something that's never been sold before.
@spIash_damage Fingers crossed there are more ways, but the acorn skin is only available for a week isn't it? Initially, seeing the 500 stars & stars on the map, I had hoped we'd be able to earn enough to get it, but it's looking like it's a cheeky move to get you close enough to be tempted into buying stars to get the remainder. And this is only ONE week's items . . . not feeling at all optimistic this morning ☹ Hope I'm wrong

I’m afraid it‘s getting worse every week...

but I guess the items return from time to time so you can save some rainbow stars (that‘s what I heard in some YouTube videos)

i want that chomper costume and the GoT spoon thing...
