@asabaida Indeed we do! The time differential is the main issue. As I post this, I'm only 1 hour into my workday for example.
The upgrade sounds really cool to be sure. My only real concern is that if it is unquestionably better than default corn and you can buy bulbs to get it, that has worrisome ramifications. I fully approve giving us options for characters, I love that idea to be sure, but they need to be balanced (and regular character balance still needs work), and they really need to avoid any hint of pay to win.

@shurikeninja I can't say as I haven't tried it yet. It may be perfectly fine as it is. We won't know until more people are using it and can empirically compare the character with and without the upgrade. From what we've seen it may be just be better than default corn but this is from a limited data set so we need more info before we can truly judge it.
- 6 years ago@Iron_Guard8 Yup, but it is meant to be better than default corn. That's the beauty of the variants in this game - it's not like GW2 where some variants were undoubtedly better than others and you're not even sacrificing upgrade slots to get stronger. In BFN, it's an Upgrade, so you won't get to have the other buffs that normal Corn players have. I think making it cost 7 points would be sufficient.

@shurikeninja variants have been a big issue since GW1. If you go back and jump into matches on GW1 and less than half the zombies are Super Commandos with the extra ammo upgrade, count yourself lucky. GW2 has those obnoxious detonation characters and other issues with variants too. There's still work here to do in BfN but the fact that @spIash_damage has used it and it isn't straight up better than default corn is a good sign. It's going to be a bit before I can try it myself as I play through the map (I have bought stars but am saving them for Rux), but had he been; 'omg! this is better in every way!' I'd be concerned.
Adding one at a time like this does make it easier to balance than tossing in 30 of them and then trying to shuffle through the noise. I'm looking forward to the wizard and beyond, that's for sure.
