So Far, What Are Your Top 3 Played Plants/Zombies? And What Are Your Least 3?
For those who don't know how to check it out. Press ESC/Start/Options Button (depending on your platform), go to Cool Stats tab, then check Plants Stats and Zombies Stats from there.
As for me...
Top 3 Plants:
- Rose (Believe it or not, I think she's an underrated hero that has more benefits than what you might think. Especially in Turf Takeover. She can melt down big/annoying targets while denying enemies their abilities and disorienting them by displacing them. She can be an immortal hero that slips death very often. Her Arcane Enigma is essential in most Turf Takeover last objectives. While also being a tool to move your allies faster to objectives. Rose is a "tactician" that can control the flow of games without having to be at the front. Using Jinx wisely, by targeting the good enemy players, can change the outcome of games significantly. Her "Timesnare" upgrade is almost a death sentence, even in 1v1 situations, she can cleverly punish other players.)
- Sunflower (Many believe that she is "weak" but I believe I might have a the highest win-rate as her. Sadly, this cannot be seen in the stats. But her healing is very strong and she can act to be 2 sunflowers with her Blossom upgrade that gives her double healing beam. Her effectiveness and greatness appears in others more than being in herself. She is, just like Rose, a tactician that can "play" with the battlefield while sneaking in the shadows. You can, if you see dominating Super Brainz for example, deny enemies OHKOs by using Cocoon upgrade and further overhealing your teammates. This plays a huge role in the battlefield. Her upgrades, when used wisely, can make her a strong powerful pick. This is team-based shooter and personal vanquishes only aren't the key to Victory.)
- Cactus (She is probably the best hero if you can actually aim well. While also being a noob-friendly in general. Her abilities are really powerful and you can't go wrong with the potato mines, especially when placing them above summonable spots while watching others fall for it while laughing back at the map. The drone makes her punish un-noticing heroes while also distracting enemies from looking at ground.)
Least 3 Plants: (#1 is the bottom most, least played)
- Night Cap (Just like Rose in GW2 when she first got released. I haven't touched her due to balancing issues. I didn't want to be "that person" who ruins it for others. I want to play her when she gets balanced to prove that I can actually be a good Night Cap without any cheese.)
- Chomper (Chomper is probably the least played Plants hero in all the PvZGW series for me. I do think that playing chomper involves "cheese" as you can swallow anyone without having a fair 1v1. Yes, you might die in the process if you weren't careful, but you can ruin it for others. And that's just not me. And I do know that it requires skill to be a good Chomper, I won't deny that. However, in BFN, there are maps/areas, such as Z-Tech Factory, that have no easy-to-access higher grounds to avoid him. Making him a more frustrating hero to deal with compared to GW1 or even GW2.)
- Kernel Corn (The problem with Kernel Corn is Cactus. As I said before, if you can aim very well, Cactus is your best buddy. Kernel Corn, while I think he is effective with his butter beacon, is underwhelming due to the fact that you have to play him mid-range without having enough fire power/survivability to outlive your opponents, who are usually Suepr Brainz and other sneaky heroes.)
Top 3 Zombies:
- Imp (This is a bit shocking to me, I disliked his abilities in general but I loved his sneakiness and how he can be "strategic" by taking down plants sitting at back. Making things fall apart for the plants without them paying much attention. His Mech's eject self-destruct was really fun to use, but the bugginess of his nature and inconsistencies would probably let other heroes dethrone him.)
- Electric Slide (She is amazing in a game filled with Acorns, Oaks, Nightcaps and other plants who love sticking to each other. She is overall good but she's a hero with long cool downs. Makes her a bit difficult to use mid-range without having to back off very often.)
- Space Cadet (In a game filled with Nightcaps and Oaks, Space Cadet, without her space station, is a blast. Her homing laser, especially with buffed head shot fire rate upgrade, punishes Fung Fu Players as it automatically locks onto them even while doing it, as well as shadow stepping Nightcaps. She's a merciless character when it comes to punishing plants trying to escape. Her other laser beam ability eats a huge pie of plants' HP, punishes big targets and rooted plants. The Space Station can devour and destroy contesting plants, but without others to support you, it can be a Kamikaze thing.)
Least 3 Zombies: (#1 is the bottom most, least played)
- Foot Soldier (I guess I was never a fan of the default variant of Foot Soldier in previous games. I preferred the sniping and crossbow ones in PvZGW1 more. In BFN, he struggles in a meta of Oaks/Nightcaps.)
- All-Star (He's always the target... everyone wants to kill the All-Star player. No matter what. Your shield won't help you. Nothing will... Except your teammates which you can't always rely on. In a game filled with Chompers, Oaks, Nightcaps... All-Star struggles to be effective. His abilities have their cool downs and you can't always escape everything with 1 sprint tackle, even though you're supposed to be at front, you just can't do your job contesting or doing anything without having to suffer, hence why people often switch to other heroes later on. I don't think his future buffs and nerfs of other heroes will fix most of that. But time will tell.)
- 80's Action Hero (Strange, I enjoy playing him while also having good stats. But I guess part of why I don't pick him often boils down to his popularity. I tend not to pick the same heroes as others, especially if there were too many of the same hero. I believe it leads to unhealthy team compositions. Otherwise, he is a super powerful amazing hero that is enjoyable to play. With, probably, the best looking hairstyles/physique.)
That is all factoring in that I tend to stop playing certain heroes after I level them up. So in the future, when I get everything leveled up, this might change. As for now, those are my top/lowest played heroes with my own personal reasonings.
What are yours? (you don't have to tell us why if you don't want to, but knowing why others pick certain heroes would be an interesting read.)
*P.S. I apologize if I offended anyone with my own personal take on certain heroes. But that's how I purely feel towards them. You are free to choose whatever you want as long as you play it fair and square with everyone else. I blame the system and rule giver, PopCap, for certain design choices rather than the players.
