split screen

Trying to play pvz gw2 with a friend and i cant figure out how to set up split screen for us. What do i need to do?

    In The Backyard Battleground U Will See Two Televisions Click That And Then Play Split Screen With Ur Buddy But U Can Play Split Screen Only If U Both Are Using The Same Console But 2 Diffrent Controllers

Bought pvz gw2 frosty deluxe edition, and the game immediately starts on a quest. Can't figure out how to enter the Backyard Battleground so I can do local split-screen. Anybody has issue with frosty edition?
