Spotting icons.

Just, why? Some characters are supposed to be sneaky (Superbrainz, Chomper) and this feature just give them a high disadvantage. Maybe a red outline as long as you have them in line of sight and for teammates a blue (or maybe just a purple or green depending on which team you are) outline through walls, this would help finding healers or just someone to group up.

  • This he been mentioned on the Reddit before as well. I think spotting has a place to a point but its too strong right now, especially as you point out, against Chompers and other characters that have to reach point blank range to be effective.

In GW1 in Boss Mode the little RADARs you dropped give spotting icons and they were reasonably cheap to place but were also destroyable and would eventually time out. Not sure where they want to go with this but it should be reduced in effectiveness against opposing players from where it is now.

I like it for finding campers, other then that I think the audio cues should be enough.  Maybe an upgrade option in GW3...cloaking for some chars...mic drop.

  • I've felt that spotting should involve taking fire. If you get hit, you get spotted for the whole team to see. From there you just take your pick on when it drops:

    5 seconds after damage taken

    Spotted forever

Spotted until you reach 75% health

Then we make a decision, should spotting work on people near the target struck? I say yes, within 10 yards.

    ....Right now however....
