People wouldn't do this if Zombies weren't guaranteed 12000 coins minimum every single game provided they can get past the majority of the Gardens. At most, whether they win early or hold the last Garden, Plants will only get 6000-7000 coins.
Equalize this and this issue may fix itself.

The minimum is around 8000 coins for zombies winning on G&G. That's for a full 6-7 capture points taken. Plants can make around that much for shutting the zombies out... in at least half the time it takes for zombies to capture all their points.
If plants were to shut out zombies without losing a capture point, they can theoretically make significantly more coins per minute than zombies. Zombies can make potentially more coins in fewer games.
