Stupid XP bar keeps going down even though I get on everyday

A lot of the challenges can be done while playing the online multiplayer. I have competed many while playing turf takeover. I found also that if I didn't continue to do challenges the meter goes down. I try and complete at least one challenge each day to keep the meter up.
