Interested to know if anyone is getting as tired as I am of certain pics & speech phrases being used as insulting taunts post-vanquish & on the podium?I'm not a huge fan of taunts being used post-vanquish anyway but the dances are one thing - some of the pics & speech options available take taunts to a whole level in my opinion.Particular dislikes are the "What smells?" (sometimes used in conjunction with the "Oh it's you" as mentioned in another thread by @PineapplePiano ) & the "poo" pic.I know these were intended to be humourous, but that's not the way they're being used 90% of the time. They're being very deliberately used to upset / enrage other players & I really think it's just furthering a toxic atmosphere in lobbies.The poo pic might be funny to a very young child, but even so, was it REALLY a good idea having it in the first place? I remember years of conversations with my son & other parents about discouraging inappropriate use of language - saying something or someone is "poo" might be forgivable with a 3 year-old but beyond that age, it's really not something I would've been happy about my child saying. And anyone past the age of 8 is using it as the even less appropriate more adult version.I'm really not impressed being in games at 11 at night (when young children at least wouldn't be playing), my team being completely steam-rolled & seeing all my opponents on the podium using the poo pic. There's only one possible meaning to take from that & it's unnecessary.If these can't be removed from the game entirely, I personally would love to see that certain speech & pic options can't be used post-vanquish or on the podium OR for there to be an option preventing me from seeing these from the opposition.And please, please, please - think carefully about adding any new ones 🙏

Unfortunately @GraveledStoopid is right and it’s not going to go anywhere . It would be nice if the quotes were categorized and we had the ability to shut certain categories off. Or change what we see so it looks like the person is just embarrassing themselves. So instead of seeing to poo emoji, we would see a crying princess face or something else ridiculous. @ToastedSarnie @asabaida

At best case scenario, it will only make people leave the game. Taunting minimally is fine but providing bullying words and pictures of crap speaks volumes to me about the guys creating this content. @ToastedSarnie It’s unfortunate that this game has come to this point. Sadly, I’m afraid very little can be done to stop this. This is the environment that unfortunately sells product and makes money for all game producers. The best you can hope for is that people call out these shenanigans in game. I have noticed that when I say something, the action in question typically stops. Once people learn that making someone else feel just as bad as they do, doesn’t change the fact that they still don’t like themself; the quicker they can become the person they really want to be.Sorry you had to deal with some punks. 🤙

Yep, I have a few conversations like that in Ops too... you say hello and a smile and maybe a wee dance... and get in return the what smells, oh its you, poop etc....I agree they just shouldn't have these in the game as they encourage that sort of interaction,they have these kind of things but they don't have "goodbye" or "cya" or "cheerio" or "goodnight"... and others are missing too which could actually be useful for some reason unknown.

@GraveledStoopid Thank you - yes, sometimes calling them out works, other times it just encourages them because they're delighted to get a reaction. Such a shame in what's supposed to be a family-friendly game 🙄

@asabaida There should definitely be a lot more friendly & useful ones, as you suggest - including "I need chocolate!" perhaps? 😂

Yeah, saw thar poo stuff once, and i laughed and applauded, that made my day.
People always find a way to insult others, and i was honestly impressed by that method, there is no chat, so people trying to be creative to insult each other, wich is really fun.

If someone taunts, it's generally being seen as being a bit of a show-off, or sometimes rude. However, if someone does taunt, opponents get free shots at them, so it somewhat balances out (I suppose). Most of the gestures/speech in this game are fine and are fun to have or use, whereas some others may not be as nice. The 'brown emoji' from the Feastivus Festival, some people find it funny, while others may not. So it's quite important, when adding more speech into the game, that the developers be careful that it goes off the rails and the game becomes chaos! 🏀
EDIT: that it DOES NOT go off the rails and therefore game becomes chaos! Sorry about that! 🤭
EDIT: I'm sure everyone knows what the 'Brown Emoji' is - but I don't want to say it! 🤫

I logged on for two reasons today: 1. To keep my login streak active (😂) 2. To make a similar post (happy to post in yours instead).
I wish these taunts weren’t a part of the game. I detest them and don’t care who uses them, I think it’s a TRASHY way to be.
I was taught to be a good winner and loser; lost from youth these day’s. 😢

I pretty much never taunt. In fact in GW2's taunt challenges/quests I always did them against AI or if my friend was on, we'd taunt each other to get them done. Most of the messages are amusing (the cantaloupe one, beef wellington, etc.), but yeah adding the poo emote didn't help anything.
I actually haven't seen that many taunts in BfN but I've barely touched PvP since the 8v8 change after testing it out for a few days so if it's gotten bad, I can't say from my own experience. Ops have been pretty friendly overall, usually stuff like 'loving' for getting heals or just emoting between waves, cheering for elite bosses, etc.
Overwatch had voice chat and that game was really toxic, so much so that it may now be worse than World of Tanks was and that game was awful for that. Love getting death threats from the first guy destroyed on my team when I can't win as the last tank on the team against 3 enemies of equal and greater tiers.
