The Official BFN Discord Server is Complete Garbage
It's a complete mess. It's way too crowded. It's designed like a server that would have ten people, not ten-thousand. Here's my main problems with this mess:
The Feedback channel
If you give constructive criticism, you will get warned or banned. Why would you not allow criticism in a feedback channel? Several people, including myself, were kicked, banned, had messages deleted, etc. One person (not going to name names) was saying that Popcap in the past haven't properly addressed issues (ex. several glitches in GW2 that have been in since launch, PC GW2 being completely filled with script kiddies with boss hacks, etc.). His messages were deleting. I was accused of "repeating myself", but it was actually because of the 30 second slowmode--which has now bean increased to 5 minutes--splitting up my messages 30 seconds apart.
Sending Images
No channel has image permissions for normal users. To send an image you need to ask a moderator for temporary image permissions. You can't even send art in the art channel, you have to message a moderator the art. Why? Why do that? The moderators could be actually spending time making it a functional server, but no. Waste time approving fanart. If somebody sends something inappropriate, just delete it, and ban, mute, warn, kick, etc. Even the video and stream channels, they're just a bunch of unembedded links, giving you no idea what you're about to click on.
The Mods
I don't know who any of them are. I don't know if they work at EA, Popcap, or are just volunteering. They banned me, not sure what the actual reason is, and I can't find out due to not being in a mutual server with any of them. But they're doing a bad job. Any sort of joking, being a clown, etc. is very discouraged. There was a couple of people were trying to be funny with some Johnny jokes, and I, sarcastically said "wow you are very funny I laugh." Doing this, I got a warning. That's how people act on the internet. If you get upset over somebody sarcastically calling somebody else funny, why are you moderating this server? I know, it's an official server, so it's more strict, but come on.
And of course, since it's a big, official server for PvZ, a children's game, they're going to be a lot of kids on the server, under 13 ones, breaking the terms of service. Acting dumb, trying to be funny, embarassing themselves.
