The PC version has huge technical issues

First of all, I want to make clear that I really enjoy this game. I think that the fundamentals of this game are a huge improvement over the Garden Warfare titles. Sadly, you can't say the same thing about the technical side of things.

1) Frame rate / micro-stuttering / freezes

As a ton of people here in the forum, on reddit and on discord have said already: Performance is really bad. I am running an i7 6700k and a GTX 1080 with the latest drivers. I play the game in 1080p and on medium settings. Still I have yet to play a single online match without suffering from huge issues like constant framedrops, micro stutters and so on. The frame rate randomly dips from 140fps down to 70-80fps with seemingly no reason at all. My CPU and GPU are sitting at around 70%-80% workload and the frame rate drops by almost 50%. Even when there are no big frame drops, there is constant micro stuttering. And I'm sure that this issue does not originate from my monitor since I'm using G-Sync. Single player is better than multiplayer but the same issues are still present. 2) Mouse sensitivity

There are numerous problems related to this. Firstly, there is this weired issue: When you respawn or get out of the change booth for example, your sensitivity is verly low. When you then flick the mouse arround for a bit, the sensitivity get's ramped up and stays this way till you respawn. Secondly I find it weird that you can only adjust the sensitivity in increments of 0.1. This means that you have to adjust the DPI of you mouse manually to get the sensitivity you are used to, which is just annoying. And lastly there is an issue with the parrot and the garlic drone. Mouse sensitivity adjustments in the game don't seem to affect them so for anyone who plays with a lower sensitivity then the default one they are pretty much unusable. Again, I'm not the only one experiencing this. There have been other posts and the people I play with report the same issues.

3) Issues with the servers

First of all I want to make clear that I play using a lan cable, have a 50mbit conncection with a 25ms ping and have never experienced any connection issues within the past 2 years.

Over the past 14 hours of playing this game I have found myself shooting more than 10 bullets into an enemy with an already emty health bar numerous, I have been eaten by chompers while in the air with space cadet's first ability and I have had direct hits not connect with the enemy for whatever reason. Under these circumstances the usage of fast abilities like space cadet's first ability or super brains middle ability feels quite wonky. I am by no means an expert but to me it seems like the severs are running on a lower tickrate compared to comparable games like overwatch or paladins. Mixed with the constant stutters it can really be a pain to play multiplayer a lot of the time. That's sad because the gameplay itself is so good!

4)miscellaneous issues

  • There is no indication of how to exit cactus or pirate drones early (maybe it's even not possible at all - it defenitely should be possible though)
  • defenders seemingly have a huge advantage over attackers juding from over 14 hours of gameplay
  • Overtime often goes on for minutes, since you have 24 players with a short way from spawn to the objective and it only takes one person to stall the objective
  • game crashes (not often though)
  • infinite loading screens
  • Due to the overhaul of turf takeover maps might be a little bit too small for 24 players. Why not make it 20 instead?
  • Balancing problems
  • There is no indication on how to crash down with space cadet's first ability early, if it's even possible (which it should)

I think this game has the potential to be the best PvZ Shooter yet. I really enjoy a lot of the desicions made by you guys. That's why I decided to write down all the problems I encounter during the founders phase and give you the best and most detailed feedback possible. I hope you put it to a good use! Not a native so excuse a few spelling and structural mistakes.
