Dear PopCap,
Yesterday, I was googling the best way to earn coins on Garden Warfare 2 and got shocked when I discovered a huge number of players are glitching the game and earning millions of coins in hours…
I will not give details (because you probably already know how it works), but the glitch consists in opening a chest repeatedly.
So, I decided to create this post to ask for a punishment to those people. You should reset their characters, levels and coins (ban is not necessary, in my opinion) so they would have to do everything again the right way.
It’s so easy to find them:
You realize of course that PopCap were already aware of this bug? And are working to fix it? And by making this post you've informed more people about it's existence? If anything you've driven more users to those forums. You even said it yourself "It's so easy to find them".
And the biggest issue is, there's no way to know if they're hacking beyond those people who listed their names on those forums. Your first point isn't accurate, because you can just join a friend in their Backyard Battleground and help them with the gnome hunt. After the hunt is over, you get the coins from the gnome hunt too. If you do this with more than one person in a day, you can easily meet the criteria for your first point.
That may be an unintended feature as well, but it doesn't seem like it.
EDIT: Hacking or Glitching, whatever. Basically the same thing.
Firstly, thank you for not posting things like "I don't care about it, so let them do what they want" and for saying constructive things 🙂
About your questions, I don't think that the people that started exploiting because of my post makes any difference at all. If PopCap decides to punish them, they will lose everything. If not, PopCap would be saying "We don't care about exploiters", so they (the new exploiters) would be doing nothing wrong.
About the gamertag on the forums I have talked before, of course PopCap would not only punish them for just posting their gamertags there. They would have to analyze the "coin flow" of the possible exploiters before.
And, lastly, about the 750k limit. I still think that earning 750k coins at backyard battleground (remember, I'm talking about the coins that "jump out" of the chests, coins earned from "coins cards" don't count) per day is something impossible to do. But, it is just an idea, PopCap can change this limit to whatever they think it's acceptable.
