For the first bug, I have not encountered this particular issue in trying this out. Since it happens very frequently for you, can you try playing around with only Thorn Apart to see if it still occurs with no other upgrade combination? (Just trying to pinpoint if it's an upgrade combination)
For the second bug, I tried all three upgrade combinations and didn't seem to find any issues with them.
S-Cape: If I stand next to a wall and jump + hold to hover sideways, I land farther with S-Cape + Thorn Apart compared to no upgrades equipped.
Car Pool: If I use arcane enigma to multiple allies in Giddy Park with Car Pool + Thorn Apart equipped, I do notice my cooldown for arcane enigma is lower than when it finishes compared to no upgrades equipped. Note - differences were more visible when used on multiple allies.
Thistle Missile: If I fire with Thistle Missile + Thorn Apart equipped and view it from the side using another player's perspective, it is noticeably faster compared to no upgrades equipped at all.
Can you try what I did and see if the upgrade combinations do not work still? If you have another controller and can test in split screen to compare the two side by side, it should be more apparent if they are not working at all.
If you have any footage of your bugs occurring it would greatly help.
Well. The first bug can be found when you fire 5 orbs at an enemy the second time after you vanquish them the first time you fire 5 orbs. 2nd bug, I checked S-Cape with thorn apart and the flight distance is originally the same flight distance unlike the S-cape without Thorn apart and as for Car pool, It can refresh Arcane Enigma ability to less than 20 seconds and the sounds is what makes me notice about carpool without Thorn apart. I hear the Arcane Enigma sounds longer without Thorn Apart but with it, It just sounds same like you didn't equip car pool.
