The Iron Citron differs from the other variants in its class in that he's not so great in direct combat at close or medium ranges; while he can do substantial damage his single shot and slow reload time (even with two upgrades enabled) are a distinct disadvantage.
The area where he shines is as a Support class character who provides direct or indirect fire from long range, preferably from an elevated position and especially when sending rounds into areas where the Zombies might be grouped, like capture points and choke points on the map.
The best time to bring him into medium or closer ranges is when you enter Iron Mode, you can use your speed boost to close the range to use your expanded magazine to deal a lot of damage before using the last of your Iron Mode time to back out to a longer range again if necessary before your magazine resets to a single shot.
