@asaj2210 Engineer is very hard to approach because of Stun mines and Turret. You should keep your distance and try to stay out of the way of his spam.
Sometimes, its better to destroy the turret first rather than the engineer. If you can't kill the Engi because he's corner peeking or has too much HP, destroying the Turret is good way to stop his spam.
Watch out for Engineers that know how to use Double Time. Engineers can use the speed boost to close distances and stun you.
Any abilities that can deny areas (like Goatify, Bean Bomb, or Super Sap Trap) will be really good at stopping both the Engineer and his turret.
If you are playing Chomper, Engi is one of his worst matchups. Grody Goop can deny abilites, and Chomper can snipe with Slobber Shot. Otherwise, Chomper has very few good options against him.

@asaj2210 Characters that I think are good for dealing with Engineer include Cactus, Rose, Nightcap and Acorn/Oak. Don't use Chomper as Engineer hard counters him. Cactus can snipe him from afar and stay away from him and his spam and send Drones after him, Rose can use Aimbot to damage the Engineer and his Turret, Enigma away if needed, Jinx him to deal more damage and Goatify him, so you can focus on taking out the Heavy Helper first. Nightcap can easily sneak behind him, can Casting Shadows and Fung Fu the Engineer and the Turret. Acorn is hard to hit and Oak has lots of health and can quickly take out the Turret and Engineer with a few direct shots. Most other characters have some other good ways of countering him. You can try using different characters and strategies and see how that works for you!
General tips: try to take out the Turret first to stop the Heavy Helper's buff to the Engineer and his team, and then the Engineer. And try to stay at range when you can so the Heavy Helper and his stun mines are much less of a problem.
