To be honest in games such as turf their really isn't any team work and players just go of and do their own things. I can't really answer your questions because their is no true answer to "When to push the objective" Peashooter and foot soldier are nice characters to start of with. As for what counters what I can't really give an answer either. Some players believe nightcap is a good counter for deadbeard, however a good deadbeard counters nightcap. Just find a character in each category (attack, defence, and support) and side that you can practice and when playing see what the team is lacking and fill in the needed role. I would recommend foot solider, all star, and scientist. For plants peashooter, citron, and sunflower.
