Unable to connect to multiplayer - black screen of death

Hi - I've recently started playing GW1 again.  I'm experiencing a persistent issue trying to enter multiplayer games in the last two days.  After I'm told a server has been found, I only get the bla...

I've had this problem too. Just about ready to delete the game.

    Same problem as all here. Went through two calls with EA, last one yesterday. Last suggestion was back up all data, do steps 6 and 7 in safe mode

    see what happens. didn't work last night, same black screen and flower. tried this morning and was able to play Gnome Bomb. Went there this

    afternoon, got into game, I was only player. Just tried and was able to play. Don't know if it a fix from EA or what they had me do. Anyone else able to play now?
