I have been having this issue as well. For Garden ops, or a regular multiplayer game through the portal, I am able to connect to a game server just fine, yet no players join. Its ridiculous that nobody has answered this question yet. Theres an exact duplicate of the problem from a few months ago too, and the community manager from EA just stopped replying..
