Unable to Play Same House Co-Op

if either my son or I are already playing the game and the other starts the game. the original person on gets kicked out and is reloaded to giddy park. the person trying to log in gets a crash game...

I hv the same problem and both psn accounts are linked one ea account. Is there a solution? Esbr rating is 10+ for this, so sub account should not be an issue.

I have the same issue on xbox one. We have 2 xboxes in different rooms, if one is already running pvz3 and I load it up on the 2nd machine it

A) kicks the first game that's already running off the server and

B) tells me on the 2nd machine that it's unable to connect.

It's done this from day one of the founders pack and still does it now its on full release.

I have purchased the game under my name/gamertag on the 2nd machine, the game on the 1st machine is running as a home xbox with a separate purchase of the game on a separate gamertag account. I have even tried tethering the 2nd xbox to my phone hotspot so it's on a different internet connection - still no joy. Any useful suggestions that don't require me to set fire to my bottom and jump through  series of ever higher hoops?
