Unable to verify permissions to access online features

On the xbox one we go to multiplayer and it tells us "Unable to verify permissions to access online features"  how do I fix that please help. Thanks

Do you have Xbox Live Gold subscription? It's a requirement for accessing multiplayer.

      Do you happen to have online multiplayer restricted on the account?

      It will be under your Privacy & Online safety settings.

        We play star wars battlefront on the same account with no problems.
