This is in response to seeing what I heard at the end of the recent 'Live from Popcap' stream and what I've seen being talked about in the forums.

There is no issue because POPCAP has already given everyone a chance to get the UniChomper by granting them another year to max their rank in GW1.
I think players should have a chance to unlock it in GW2. It should stay as a max rank reward though. If you unlock it in GW1 within the year you get the sparkly colorful original unichomper. But if you unlock it in GW2 you get a non sparkly non rainbow version or something along those lines. I dont think they should offer it for a hero showcase. That definitely takes away the special-ness of it. There are lots of young/new fans who just weren't allowed to play as much as they wanted to reach max rank or who's parents just wont spend the time on reaching max rank on an old game especially after spending money on GW2. Those are the fans I feel for because its literally not in their control.

Or if they give each Chomper the ability to rainbow warp if they maxed rank in GW1 and just allow everyone else to burrow?
Metal Chomper with rainbow warp will be on Scientist level...
Problem is, I dedicated a lot of my time to get it and if I knew it was going to be released I wouldn't have wasted my time.
- Yes! I was just going to edit my answer to say that the GW1 version should have the warp but GW2 version should not. That way hes still really special for GW1 players but Popcap isnt excluding new players who literally maybe never had a chance at getting him.
I don't care if they give the unicorn chomper anymore. Its not even worth getting to level 313. Is just the normal chomper with new skin and a warp ability that was nerfed. When have you seen more than 3 players use a chomper in a team? Even if people got the chomper then it would get bad reviews and the chomper will get buffed just because people are skilless and don't know how to use chompers. I only seen a few people who can aim in the game and not just spam abilities then hide or camp. unicorn chomper is only a warping chomper nothing else and the warp isn't as good as the scientist warp
You are all forgetting that YOU ALREADY HAVE A CHANCE TO UNLOCK IT! Go back to GW1 and unlock it. I'm sick of newbie/lazy players just wanting everything handed to them. This was meant as a reward for players who played GW1 even when all the updates and dlc stopped. You cant just start crying because you don't want to put jn the hard yards. I did and I'm pretty sure every other TRUE fan of PVZ did too.

- I did unlock it. Lol. I was one of first people to hear about it when it was announced they were doing a reward for max rank. Thats why I think it should stay a character that people have to earn. The whiners who didnt want to do the work in GW1 still have to put in work in GW2 and at least kids/ brand new fans get a chance too. Plus changing his skin for GW2 players and reserving the warp for for only people who earned him in GW1 keeps him super special. If players STILL want to whine then go back to GW1 and earn him there, you have a year. Making it a hero showcase would be the biggest slap in the face to the people who put in the "hard yards" in my opinion.
I have to agree with tallergoblin, if some people really want the uni chomp then they know right now how to get it. If it were up to me then I wouldn't even allow anyone to obtain it once GW2 was released. People really need to remember what the uni chomp signifies and maybe then they will see why its important to leave him as a 313 unlock. Loyal and dedicated players like myself deserved something for hitting the max rank, which took a lot of time and effort on our part, and our dedication to the game aided in there even being a sequel.
So to all those complaining, its only one character, if you want it, go earn it in the same way the loyal and dedicated players did.
A message to popcap, please don't give into the 'I want something but don't want to work for it generation', you gave us loyal players a great exclusive something we didn't know was even going to happen, we just got to the max rank for the love of the game.
