I introduced my friend (Now roommate) to PvZ GW1. When I started playing GW2 they really weren't into it, and despite me saying how good Citron was and how cool it would be if they played it, they refused to budge.... then the character export happened. (What a nightmare)
Apparently a deadline and a "Something nobody else could get" was enough to get her to (with me in tow) grind from rank 53 to rank 313 with completely unupgraded characters zombie side. We're talking no brainz for brainz smashing here. She works like all the time and watches wrestling. So guess who had to do most of the farming? Me.
Of course, I knew all I had to do was buy the 20k zombie pack over and over. I had to look it up, I was very pessimistic about the whole thing. No Self Revives and no Team Retries in that pack, and once I got all the customizations, it was all consumeables and Skip Challenge stars.
Here's the thing, I didn't do it for myself. I didn't even think we'd be able to get HERS in time. (I wasn't allowed to use the stars. ¬.¬ I had to grind coins and complete challenges as they came. I still used stars but I didn't say I did.)
By the time there was 2 weeks left, I was absolutely sure we weren't going to get the stupid thing. I was sick of the game. We started the grind Mid-January and finished with 1 week to spare.
It was a very emotional time. There are pre-mades on Gw1 who just seem to follow you to any game you go to. And a few people who shall remain unnamed who personally taught me the meaning of pain in the form of Law Pea and Toxic Pea. .-. lol
WE FINISHED IT THOUGH!!!! ARGH WE DID. MY ACCOUNT WAS RANK 113 AND I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT SO I DIDN'T DO IT FOR MYSELF!!! Now she's got it and I don't and I hate myself.
My point is this was all very emotional. Personally, if any of you get to purchase the Unicorn chomper, I will be so frustrated. Not only because of what I went through to farm it for someone else. But because I will buy it too. rofl AND I WILL HATE MYSELFFFFF
I could imagine popcap maybe introducing some way of earning him through GW2 when GW3 is announced, like achieving max rank, but I think we can believe their promise to not give it away.
Unicorn chomper is a gift, reward, trophy for a LOYAL and SKILL full player so giving/buying them is a cheat for GW1 players who worked so hard to reach max level.
But we're playing GW2 now and there is no more transfer anymore so it's a good idea to prove your loyalty and skill by mastering GW2 to max level (-unicorn level) and get that Unicorn chomper reward as well.
The best way to resolve this, let the community VOTE for it.

Just reading the selfish comments of people whining about how you should have grinded GW1 to get it therefore it shouldn't be available to GW2 only users, i bet you haven't even put half the hours into the game franchise as some of the GW2 users who didn't get a chance to play GW1
My 5 year old son has all the characters, every single one apart from unicorn chomper, we have both grinded the account in GW2 more so than what anyone has done to solely achieve rank 313 in GW1, i even bought the game twice to help him get the party characters in infinity mode
Is this not loyalty? Does this not deserve a shot a getting the Unicorn Chomper through some other means?- Sell it for $1,000,000 or $2m or $3m coins or even $10m in the sticker pack shop
- Make it available when you max rank every character (this we have almost done too)
- Make it available when you have collected the entire itinerary for the sticker packs (again something we have almost completed 7500+ items)
Just give us something to work towards, please!
