Unlocking GW 1 Characters in GW 2

Hi there. I have a quick Question. Can you actually unlock GW 1 characters that you haven´t unlocked in the original game in GW2 also? Or is it mandatory that you have to unlock them in GW1 first?

    You should be able to unlock all the GW1 characters in GW2 - so no issues there.

    You have to unlock them in the first one before they are able to be imported. Seems like any of the ones that are eligible to be imported can be earned in the second one. I say that because I made the mistake of using my in-game coin to purchase a character pack BEFORE the import and got a character I had unlocked in the previous version.
    Good luck, and don't use Rose if you have ANY skill at all....

    hehe.......to be honest, i tried playing rosie once, and i just couldnt do anything with her. maybe i´m just bad at the game, or i dont understand how to play her properly....but i was way more successful with the old classes from GW1...maybe it takes some time to adjust 🙂 anyways, thanks for the infos, and maybe we see us on the battlefield, sort of ^^
