Unlocking GW1 variants in GW2

Are GW1 variants only available in GW2 through transfer?  The classic variants are already available in GW2, but something like say the Cricket Star must be obtained by parts in GW1.  So unless his parts  are available in GW2 sticker packs, the only way you can have the cricket star in GW2 is if you unlocked him in GW1.

    They can all be found in sticker packs.  It will just be a lot faster and cost fewer coins if you can transfer them. 🙂
